Your sources lied, sorry. I talked and texted Chris today...he only applied and interviewed at GC. Try new sources...like the guy himself.

Hopefully Green County's program will exhibit a little more class in the future than they did under Griffith. They have a strong program.

Chris is a great guy and a very good football coach. The high school coaching profession is no different than other professional careers out there, sometimes it just takes a few stops to find the right fit. With his ties to the general area, I foresee this being a great opportunity for all involved. The people of Green County will love this hire from the get go, if they haven't already.

 

Mark Peach at Anderson County bounced around the first 8 years of his career (Hancock County '99-'00, Dunbar '01-'02, Campbellsville University HC '03-'04 before landing at his alma mater in '05 and the rest is history). Another great coach and great man.

No kidding. I won't sugar coat it when it comes to Griffiths... He is a certified dirtbag that has done things that go beyond "competitive" or "passionate". The people of Green Co. have had a great program the last few years, it's too bad they've had their run tainted by the perception that Griffiths had brought on them. With the right leadership Green Co. can be a competitive team in 2A, and more importantly be a team that people respect...

I would say, "make a legitimate run", like Griff or not, one thing Ill say is that they were were competitive under him. Wins over Danville, Lone Oak (despite clock issue), Monroe County (even though they were in the reg season and didnt "matter":), etc. amongst others in his time there. The opposing team always knew that had played a game. That much was for sure, IMO.
