December 10, 201213 yr I have been hearing and reading about this situation for about two years now. It's a sad situation, no doubt. However, I would like to point out two things: 1) The St. Joseph County prosecutor reviewed all of the evidence in this case, and decided NOT to press charges. Here is the prosecutor's press release regarding the matter. 2) By punishing an athlete on his football team for the alleged crimes described in Ms. Henneberger's article, Coach Kelly would be punishing an athlete for crimes that the local courts had cleared the athlete of committing. Why is Coach Kelly responsible to reprimand a student for crimes that the legal system have officially declared he had not committed? The legal system doesn't always get it right. As a student representing ND, the players should have never put themselves or the program in that situation. They should have been kicked off campus and then beaten to a pulp by Bubba!
December 10, 201213 yr Brian Kelly allowed players to stay on the team that tried to intimidate a victim of a crime, that is horrible. That type of behavior should never be tolerated by anyone. An older gentleman close to the UC program told me of stories and events that occurred while BK was at UC. The man is the king of cover up and sweeping things under the rug to protect his players and team. Should not be a college coach because he does not set a good example of honesty and responsibility for your actions.

You're saying that schools need to believe every single accusation - even those that were dismissed by the legal system - and they need to kick anyone off campus who has had someone accuse them of wrongdoing, and then furthermore, that vigilante justice is in order? Let's take the Brian Banks, for example. You think that's okay?
