The Professor Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Owsley County led at halftime 30-22, and led by as much as 12. Hazard led after 3 quarters 37-35. With 2 minutes to go the Bulldogs led 47-44. Robert Smith fouled out with 2 min. to go, and the Bulldogs went into the stall....and hit their free throws down the stretch to win it.
WISEOLDOWL Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Hazard must have clamped down on them in the 2nd half. Owsley only scored 14 second half points.
The Professor Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 Hazard must have clamped down on them in the 2nd half. Owsley only scored 14 second half points. It was a reversal of halfs. Hazard only scored 22 in the first half and Owsley scored 14 in the second half. Owsley couldn't hit anything from outside in the second half. Owsley's primary scorers....Neeley, Smith, and Congleton.....were not the one's taking the critical shots in the last three minutes of the game. Why???? I have no idea
WISEOLDOWL Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I could answer that for you Professor, but you already know the answer.
TaylorMadeBoy Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Well it was a pretty close game. It sounds it was hard fought.
The Professor Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 RonnieThe Popular.... Where is that 25 point win you were predicting??? Hazard is darn lucky to survive this game. Owsley led for 80% of the time. Robert Smith and the Owls are re-connecting. They just need a little better direction in the final minutes to win these type games.
1owlzfan Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I totally agree with you Professor and anyone that saw the last two games the Owls have played would have to agree also. I have always said that the Owls are not out of the picture come district time.
*The Prophet Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Souds like they are finally getting some chemistry i give them some props.
*The Prophet Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I could answer that for you Professor, but you already know the answer. Whats the answer?
The Professor Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 Whats the answer? I think he/she was just asking my opinion.....of which I say, "No comment."
Sports Maniac Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Owsley County is really starting to come together. Smith has been showing good leadership on the court. I'd say the Owls are looking to turn this season around and come out with a bang. :flame:
Sports Maniac Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Hazard played good ball. I dont think they had much inside scoring. Just about all there scoring came from the perimeter. Hazard is still one of the best teams in this region. Owsley played there buts off last night and should of won. :ylsuper:
mountainwarrior Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Sounds like Owsley is going to be a dark horse the rest of the season.
PRIME TIME PLAYER Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Hazard played extremely flat the first half and Owlsey shot the lights out the first half. Owsley played hard but when Hazard decided they wanted to play in the second half Owsley only scored 14 pts and Hazard outscored them 16 pts in the second half.
