Fairdale couldn't have asked for a better start to the 2012-13 season. They finished up the first week with two convincing wins, beating fellow Sixth Region teams Jeffersontown and Southern by 13 and 19, respectively. Junior guard Cory Thomas poured in a combined 52 points in those two games.

St. Xavier, on the other hand, dropped a 63-54 decision to Central in overtime to begin their campaign.

With Fairdale putting up over 80 points in each of those victories, the Tigers will have to play solid defense to send Fairdale home without another victory to start this season.

How deep is Fairdale? From the stats I'm looking at, five guys did all the scoring in both games.

Regardless, that's an impressive start for the Bulldogs. I'll go with them to stay perfect.

The KHSAA scoreboard stats are incomplete. I don't know why. According to the box scores in the Courier-Journal last week, eight players have scored for Fairdale.

The starters accounted for 153 of Fairdale's 185 points in the opening week.

Apparently I couldn't do math last night.

Fairfale scored 165 points in its first two games, not 185.

I'll take Fairdale in this one by about 10. Josh Payne and Cory Thomas are tough to stop when they get going.

If X's big man can stay out of foul trouble then I think X can pull out a close one. If not, I think they will have some problems.

But in the end I think X will improve their record to 1-1.

I'll be there! Payne and Thomas are the scorers but if Lowery and Crabtree play good Fairdale by 10-15!

I think Boo is the leader in many ways of this squad. Really good chemistry with that bunch.

This is seriously the last time I start a thread after midnight...

It was a very exciting game with St.X pulling it out in the 4th quarter.
