Final. Both squads have a legitimate shot to get to Rupp.

Wow this is a little bit surprising. Spindoc give us some details. I know Russell has the really good shooter whose name escapes me.

Kyle Skaggs, he's a senior this year. I think he has started for Russell since 7th grade. His father is Steve Skaggs that played at Greenup County and Ohio U in the 70's. Very nice shooter and crafty, heady player. Think he had around 30 last night. The 16th region imo is down considerably this year and teams are VERY young overall. Both these teams along with Fleming County and Ashland will be in the mix but compared to the state overall, its a weak region right now that will get alot better over the next few years.

Russell played solid defense for sure last night. Boyd couldn't throw one in the ocean which had not been their M.O. all pre-season. Skaggs took alot of shots but also got quite a few calls and he's money at the line. 14-14 from the line. The 3rd qtr saw Boyd score 6 and Russell score 10. I thought the whistle was crappy both ways. I hope that changes thru the season. The 4th quarter was exciting. Congratulations to Russell on the win. The next matchup at Boyd should be entertaining too.

Nice win for Coach Kidwell and the Devils to start the season. I look for Skaggs and Burns from Fleming to be at the top of the state scoring leaders.

How many career points does he have? Is he getting close to Ferguson from Elliott Co.

I think he is around 1900. Not sure what Ferguson had.

Congrats to Russell nice way to start the season.
