January 28, 200620 yr I doubt that it would have any impact at all on contracts signed with Papa John's or Rupp Arena. If it came to pass, I would think that the KHSAA would simply need to rent enough additional time to provide for any extra games that had to be played. I'm not sure, this is just a guess. Frances Be careful Frances. It would indeed have to have an effect. If separation happens, the private schools don't nearly as long to play a playoff series, and I personally see them as wanting to get their events done and get back to the classroom, yet another PR advantage they could preach to prospective students. With not needding as long to play postseason, you simply can't just "add" a game or two to an existing event as some of the short sighted public school administrators were preaching. Another thing though, it that more than the venues, its about the sponsorships as well. I know people with National City who say that one of the real strong points and reasons they like the basketball sponsorship is that they are sponsoring the only game in town, and the only state who does it this way. Any dilution would make at least one member of their Board of Directors want to sit back and take a second look. And other sponsors probably feel the same way.
January 28, 200620 yr How can you ever be off topic when quoting from a Mel Brooks classic???? Frances Wow, didn't know how one comment would so totally derail the train. Thanks for the smiles today though, Blazing Saddles really is a classic.
