Bishop Brossart recently completed a deal with the City of Alexandria to play it's Fast Pitch Softball games at Alexandria City Park. The Lady 'Stangs have played in recent years at Pendery Park. Bishop Brossart will do a lot of renovations to the existing field including adding block dugouts, extending sideline fences, refurbishing the existing bleachers, a wall and padding behind the catcher and erecting an outfield fence. The city recently replaced the front field with a new parking area and plan to add a place for the visiting team bus. The goal is to make it a nice addition to the park for not only the fast pitch team but a win win situation for all the people of Alexandria, Ky. "We certainly want to express our appreication to Mayor Cachford and the Alexandria City Commission for their unanimous support and cooperation on this project," exclaimed Athletic Director Mel Webster. "It will be closer for our players from a safety standpoint and also allow them to get home earlier for academics. In addition it will finally give us a home field," pointed out Brossart Head Coach Tom Baynum. The BBHS high school season runs from February 15 to June 1 as far as possible home games. Last week a crew removed the old dugouts and will start next week with the new dugouts and finish most of the project this fall. :ylsuper:

The varsity Uncle Pete Noll Tourney and the JV Tourney will be at Softball City. We need more than one field for a tournament and we also didn't want to take up to much parking at the field to detract from others using the park for other activities.

Congrats BGH!! You and Tom have a top of the line program there, and it has been for years. The Lady Stangs deserve a field to call home. Good luck this year:thumb: Will you have lights?

Sham, go give some advice. Maybe you can help make it as nice as Notre Dames???? Maybe you can help with the pitchers mound??

Why would I help with the pitchers mound?? I would rather stand by first base and cheerlead like you.

I would think that you would want your daughter to get a good hop when fielding that ground ball.... oh yeah what position did she play again? And as for the cheerleading part.... its a nicer angle to see the pitchers from behind the plate. Standing by first base would have me escorted out of the field. That is limited to coaches, umpires and players. I would rather stand behind the plate to watch the pitchers like you do. It is easier to see over people from that angle.

Go fight in a different thread:deadhorse:. This is about BBHS finally getting a field they deserve for a program that has done well for a long time with few girls to pick from. Tom and Mel built this program and are still working to make it better. I Just want to say thanks for the girls to coaches that care.
