The issue is that we have a law that does not allow an officer to do much in this scenario. We're uncomfortable with that because of what could happen (your scenario). However, our Constitution does not allow officers to interrogate/seize property/come onto and into our property without cause.

 

So, I'll ask again. What is your point in relation to this thread? Are you saying the end justifies the means ? Are you saying "well even though we can't arrest the guy he might go and do bad things?" We get that. No debate there.
