Agreed, time will tell

This teams reminds me more of the 2009 team with Xavier Shelton & company. Could score alot of points, but, wasn't quite as strong on the defensive end as the last 2 years. The 09 team was more a finesse team with great speed, whereas this team is a more physical team with no real star WR like the 09 team, but, probably a few more weapons, overall. It's a little surprising that this team is more physical, considering they don't have much size in the trenches, but, a Sr Jonathan Jackson gives them that physical pounding presence. I agree that the 2010 team was better overall of the bunch, but, this team is close from an offensive standpoint, at least.

Guessing the Beachwood scouts got their $ worth Friday. Had to of scared the heck out of them

I would put this team 3rd of the last 3, granted the regular season is only half complete. At the same time, It's starting to look like Class A football may be weaker than in previous years.

I disagree that 1a is weaker than the previous years. Yes, quite possibly, Beechwood and HCross are down, but, Hazard is still solid and teams like Frankfort, Raceland, Russellville, Williamsburg, Harlan and KCD quite possibly have one of there better teams in the last few years. Then Fairview is still solid, as they normally are. So, I don't think it's so much being weaker, as it is, just a few different teams with a better shot than they've had in the past.

I tend to agree with Who's Next. I do not think the best teams in this class are as good as they have been recently. I do agree that there are more solid clubs in 1A this year but I am still unconvinced that most of the teams you mentioned are all good enough to beat the top 3 or 4. Can any of these teams win it sure but I only feel like there are 4 with good odds of winning it unless these others improve as the season goes on.

One thing in favor of this year's team is that they have played the toughest non-district schedule of the three...if my memory serves me correctly. That said, I still choose the 2010 team at this point.

2010, They had a great defense. Unless the unthinkable happens. I like our chances immensely

Hazard is 1-2, albeit against respectable competition.

Others have stepped up to the plate, as Beechwood does every year, but has yet to deliver. I'm willing to withhold judgement on Williamsburg, but my guess Hazard could take them fairly easily.

Do you not think Frankfort and Raceland are better than they've been the past 2-3 years? I do. And, they both challenge themselves by playing good competition. Harlan's losses have come against Lex Christian, Williamsburg and Middlesboro. These are 3 pretty good teams. Hazard's lost to Somerset and LCA, nothing in those losses tell me they aren't as good as usual or at least still one of the teams to beat. I doubt Mayfield is as good as last year, but, still very solid. Russellville is definately improved from last year. Losses to SWarren and Ft Campbell aren't bad losses. Fairview does play a weak schedule, but, what's different about that from other years. The response was I don't think this years lot of teams in 1a is down compared to prior years. I think there are a few more quality teams this year than normal. That doesn't mean I think all of them can win a championship, just that the overall 1a class is a little deeper than past with a little more parity.
