A Fair Share

Featured Replies

My point is there is no such thing as a fair share, there is only wealth redistribution. The president knows it but doesn't have the stones to say it.

You're just now figuring this out?

I have no idea where he fits in. Probably not since I'm sure he gives most of his money to the homeless and if he hasn't why not. But I see what your asking and when I say their I mean the rich. He want's their money to redistribute.

Let me pose this question. Let's say you find a lamp, you rub it, and a genie pops out and grants you one wish. You tell him you wish for your fair share. What is he/she going to give you?

He's going to give me a clue as to what your point is.

I guess that the difference is that when I think of "fair share" I don't think about what I will get, but what I will give.

So you are the genie what would you give me. Or would you ask me "fair share of what?"

And I agree on the difference and that's the point. This whole fair share idea is just idiotic. There is no such thing because it's different for everyone. It's simply wealth redistribution and by constantly saying everyone needs to do their fair share Obama is either directly or indirectly creating class warfare.

You know that's why you have not bothered to answer the origional question.

There is no answer. Your answer is different than mine which is different than TB&G. It's an asinine question.

It's like saying "when does one become fat" or "is she pretty?"

Secondly, you act like "fair share" is a 2012 phenomenon when it's been used forever.

So, are you ok with a candidate (again) who bases his economic plan on something as "unanswerable" as Fair Share?

It's not a 2012 phenomenon but it's the first time a president has hung his re-election on everyone getting their fair share.

So by Clyde's definition is 70% of the taxes paid by the people who have 70% of the wealth fair?

There isn't much left to choose to give after the "fair share" is taken by law.

To be honest I simply don't give it that much thought.

Rich folk pay a lot of taxes.

Maybe I haven't followed as closely as I should. His entire plan is called "fair share?"

We are over taxed. Period.

Everything comes back to fair share, fair shot, everyone doing their part. By the way who in the world doesn't want everyone to do their part? Is there someone out there who wishes that a group of people didn't do their part?

I forget, but how much of of the country's wealth does that top 10% possess?

What does it matter? Are you know advocating taxing wealth? The top 10% pays 70% of the tax but only makes a little more then 40% of the income.

We are over taxed. Period.

No question. Way too much crap that we are paying for that has little or no value.

And therefore we are all paying more than our fair share. Well, those who pay.
