Tougher to win or filled with better teams? Why don't you give us your thoughts first.

From what I know about the 9th, and I am not really up on it, but Holmes and Covcath would be on top, and the tenth would have to be Pendleton and Mason, just wondering how, from top to bottom these regions match up. I know Pc beat Holmes by 17 early, but that was earlyl

At the top Pendleton and Mason are better than the top 3 in the 9th (Holmes, Highlands, and Covcath).

In general I'd say the 9th top to bottom, year in year out. Not sure about this year because I haven't seen any 10th teams yet. I do know that Brossart never won a title in the 9th but they won the title in their first or second year in the 10th. This may not mean anything , but to me it was a good gauge.

They also didn't make the regional last year after winning at Cov Cath in the final month of the season.

Alot of people have Brossart ranked 3rd in the 10th and they got beat by Holy Cross who is 5th or 6th in the 9th region.

 

Top to bottom the 9th region has historicaly always been better. The top teams in the 10th usually can compete with anyone in the state. But normaly 9th region schools schedule some 10th programs for wins. When I played for HC I think the only lost we had to a 10th region school was my Junior year against Brossart. We even beat Mason County at the fieldhouse.

It wasn't as much being in the 9th Region as getting a player like Nathan Seiter and a coach like Willie Schlarmen to bring them where they are today.

I think the 10th has the best team out of the two (Pendleton Co.), but I believe that the 9th is a better region from top to bottom.

The yr. Brossart won the 10th they were about 5th or 6th in the 9th. Not even close. But they won and that is what counts. Historically I would say there is always 2 or 3 teams in the 10th that can play with anyone in the state but top to bottom the 9th is stronger.

Can't argue with the Mason Co teams of the early 2000's as if they could beat the top team in 9th thats for sure.

In a round robin format with the top six teams, the 10th outwins whatever ninth teams you put into the mix.
