Hiking trails in Northern KY

Featured Replies

Today's adventure was Gunpowder Creek Nature Trails. Fun time, and beautiful scenery. We checked out all the little side paths, too, so about 2.8 miles on the FitBit

This is the wooded trails next to the creek? Off of Rogers Rd?

I think we are talking about the same thing? Go into Hanover Park subdivision off of Rogers Lane. Then go to Sperti Lane. The trail head is at Sperti Park. It's an old gravel logging trail that goes down to the creek, then winds along the creek.

Interesting tidbit is that there is a large grove of Oak trees that is one of the oldest, undisturbed group of trees in the area.

Also---lots of wildflowers and butterflies that were not as noticeable on other local area hikes.

That's the place. It's pretty nice down by the creek when the water is rushing through.

The ONLY issue with that location is that you have to hike back up the hill at the end of your hike.

Just hiked the Fort Thomas "Landmark Tree Trail". Beautiful views of the river, massive trees, lots of little bridges. Really enjoyed it.
