July 25, 201214 yr New info on the voter ID situation in Pennsylvania. Apparently it's worse than expected. I'll also add that in this situation any old photo ID won't do. It has to be issued from the Department of Transportation in Pennsylvania. I'll also add that I am for voter ID at the booth. Just make that ID free of charge and readily available in this situation to allow people to exercise their right to vote since the rules are changing in July of the election year. Starting in November, if you don’t come to the polls with an acceptable photo ID, you will not be permitted to vote by the election officials. If you are denied the right to vote at the polling place, you will still have a right to vote by provisional (paper) ballot. You can also vote by provisional ballot if you say you can’t afford to get proof of your identity without paying a fee.

July 26, 201214 yr Still haven't seen any refutation of the 13 substantiated cases of voter fraud at the polls out of 600+ million votes cast in the past decade. I know, I know - there could very well be more unsubstantiated cases, but... ...this is a red herring the likes of which only the most extraordinarily naive or the most firmly-rooted reactionary cannot see. And there are plenty of each on this board.
