Thanks for the input #23, didn't know you cared!! You might want to actually READ his post before commenting--"If and I do say If--BB and Montgomery are at the top of their game, while Mason and PC are not, then any team could win it" Sounds like Mont and Brossart are wasting their time?? Both will probably show tomorrow night I'm guessing though!! Hope you're there--Heck they may both keep it competive!!

I would just like to read one thread on BGP without someone going on and on and on about the same thing when one person already rephrased their quote just for you.

Are you serious, does it bother you that much when someone thinks that Brossart isn't one of the top 2 teams of the 10th region?

Nope--just when they act like there's ONLY TWO teams IN the 10th region!!!!

Actually about 16 or so. :D

I think they are a good team, but not one of the top 2 right now. But they may get more respect when they actually make it to a 10th Region Tournament.

Agreed, as despite their recent success over schools 4 times their size; BB needs to "put up or shut up" come tourney, district or region time!! Time will tell!!

BB private school. :sssh:

I am sorry. I don't usually post like this, but the comment of schools 4 times their size is a joke. I believe the majority on here will agree.

BB is also a private school with all their athletes from feeder parishes in local communities!! Sorry on the math as I should have said "up to 4 times". Campbell, Ryle, Boone or Conner at approximately 1500 kids are only about 3.75 times larger; didn't know we were getting that technical??

The point is, despite the "BB private school :sssh: " comment, which I assume is another lame attempt at saying they have some sort of advantage; they have been able to build a program which is competitive with much larger schools; and they've done it without benefit of going outside their area for players, or bringing in transfers from other areas!! :thumb:

Back to the original thread, it appears Harrison County controlled the first half (leading 25-21) and things went south in the second half. Harrison must have played well in the first half and poorly in the second half, or is it that BB played poorly in the first half and well in the second half, or option three, a combination of the two.

I believe Harrison Co. could be a threat as the season moves forward and they continue to improve. One of HC's better players (Mullins) did not play in the game on Thursday night as he was sick and stayed home. Had he been healthy and available, perhaps the game would not have gotten out of hand in the second half...of course, had I picked the right six lottery numbers, I would have won the Powerball several times also.

Of course, every team should improve as the season wears on.

Sharp - This is one private school that does it by the book.

Every player on our roster is from one of the six parishes designated to be our District feeder schools. If anything we are somewhat disadvantaged ourselves that many of the players from within our feeder programs choose to attend Newport Central Catholic or Campbell County.

Credit an excellent grade school/junior high basketball program. a tradition of hard work, dedication, commitment and over-achievement on the part of our players, and a superior coaching staff for our success and not the low road route that you seem to imply.

We too get frustrated by the actions of some of our private school counterparts but that certainly is not the case here.

I agree with Mustang. I believe that BB does things by the book and have done a great job over the years in establishing one of the top "programs" in the region, and they have done it without a hint of corruption.

We in the public sector are probably a bit jealous of the success that private schools have attained in the recent past.

We perceive them as being haughty and elitist, and that is not true at all in most cases.

There are some private school supporters who are guilty of being over the top, but there as many in the public sector who are just as guilty.

I think all of us on BGP are generally proud of the school we attended and are willing to stand up for the old alma mater.

All the arguments about advantages and disadvantages that privates and publics have over each other are becoming somewhat stale...very few original comments any more.

Same old arguments on both sides...I'm tired of it.

Well said!!!! :thumb:

Not from me, I just think that those 2 teams are the best in the 10th Region and most assuredly the best in this year's MCIT.

They may be... We'll see tonight... should be a good game.
