Corners only chance to win tourney is to start their #2 vs the Birds. Ryle will no doubt throw Downs vs HC. Good luck to all teams.

Conner has no chance this year to win 3 in a row. After Maines they are really thin. A top pitcher quit the team and they are a sub .500 team. Very uninspired effort against Ryle. Do not mean to bash them but that is how I see it. Hope they prove me wrong.

Kind of sounds like last year. They sure got close to winning the region. Best of luck to the Cougars.

This is very true, however, last year's Conner team had senior leaders that were making their third regional appearance. This year's seniors don't have quite the experience or leadership. But like any team, put three solid games together and they may find themselves on top.

HaHa. Actually, the gate belongs to the schools! Price remains the same as in recent years - Adults $7 Students $5. Your ticket is good all day, including both sessions on Monday, as has been the practice for years. Given the schools involved, we hope for record attendance.

Missile, this will also be the third regional tourney for these Seniors. Arlo has taken them 4 years in a row. Baseball is a funny game? Some of these Seniors could surprise a lot of people.

Good Luck to all 8 teams. Arlo keep up the good work!

Actually $5 of every $7 ticket goes back to the Freedom.

So you're saying Blake Maines then pray for rains.

Nice old school reference.

Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.

I don't know that it was so much an uninspired effort as it was an absolute bashfest by Ryle that day. Which to me proves the problem they have - the two pitchers that threw against Ryle simply aren't of the quality to beat a team like Ryle or CCH, so they might be best served to take their chances with them against HHS and save Maines for the next game - be it CCH or Dixie.

...UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND... A STRONG HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM IS BUILDING INTO THE OHIO VALLEY THIS WEEKEND. THIS WILL BRING THE FIRST HEAT WAVE OF THE YEAR TO THE REGION...WITH NEAR RECORD TEMPERATURES POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY. HIGHS WILL WARM INTO THE MIDDLE 90S FOR SUNDAY AFTERNOON. HIGHS ON MONDAY WILL GENERALLY BE IN THE LOWER 90S. THE WARM TEMPERATURES WILL COMBINE WITH THE HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES IN THE MID 90S EACH AFTERNOON. THOSE PLANNING TO SPEND TIME OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND SHOULD TAKE EXTRA CARE TO AVOID SUNBURN AND DEHYDRATION.

The players, coaches and staff will be ready for the heat, as I know most of the coaches and medical staff have spoken to their players to start drinking plenty of water starting Satirday.

Me I am more concerned about the Grandparents the Moms and Dads and the players little brothers and sister sitting in the heat and not being prepared for it.

Do yourselves a favor if you are planing on attending the games: wear sunscreen, wear light clothing, wear a hat that covers your face and ears, drink plenty of water starting on Sunday, stay away from alcohol, bring an umbrella (be nice about it and don't block someones view) bring a towel to wipe the sweat off and maybe a wet wash rag to cool yourself down.

The players should be fine as I said and the coaches and medical staff will be looking out for them but again do yourself a huge favor and be smart when attending the games on Monday.

I would also add we need to be looking out for Old Guys.

Sometimes the heat gets to them as well.:D

Which is my point exactly. Let's face facts. All 8 teams are not on equal footing heading into this thing. You need to win 3 games in 4 days. You better have a good, deep staff and only about half of the teams in the region tourney can say that. I agree with the above perhaps uninspired was not the correct choice of words but if that is their 2nd and 3rd best pitcher they are in trouble.

Logic says you are right.

However, I watched Beechwood throw their catcher who had pitched 15 innings the entire season against CCH 3 years ago and they won. Strange things can happen.

That was an incredible pitching performance that night in the Region game by Nate Snyder. I don't know why he hardly pitched in HS, although he was an excellent defensive catcher. After HS, he's pitched for Translyvania and also set the Bluegrass (for the Chiefs) season strikeout total.

Who will be this year's Nate Snyder?
