Should be a terrific game tomorrow between Ryle and Conner. Conner has caught fire at the right time of year. Ryle will have their work cut out for them and need to bring their hitting sticks. I assume Nelson goes for Conner?

 

Didnt Conner lose to Highlands just a few days ago? I will agree that they have a solid team and Maines is a very good pitcher but do they have what it takes to win the Region? How deep does their pitching go?

Yes, the doctors tod him not to pitch anymore, believe me if he could pitch he would have. There is a big difference in throwing 10 to 15 balls from short then throwing as many as pitching requires. He has a good future ahead of him and no reason to have it all taken away by throwing his arm away. I think over the years he has proven himself in all aspects of this "game". All these kids will wake up in a few days and realize they have just finished something they did not know how much fun they were having and that there is a lot more to life then this "game" called baseball. Good luck to alll of them, in this day and age they will needd it!

I can't remember the last high schol game (if ever) where I saw two batters circle the bases on balls that stayed in the park. Happened tonight.

 

I believe there were some throwing errors during these plays. I thought the ball in the first inning took a bad bounce, did not see the fielder thouch the ball, I could have missed it not sure.

Triple throwing error when Maines scored.

I was told that he quit, I believe over a dispute about playing time. Apparently, he realized he was making a mistake and asked to come back and join the team but his request was declined. Sad to see a senior go out that way, especially now that Conner is advancing. They could definitely use his arm.

I believe he was planning on attending Shawnee State, but I'm not 100% sure of that. But it is crazy to think of a senior quitting a few days before the Districts start. Props to Arlo for standing his ground.
