May 17, 201214 yr John McCain did not lose the 2008 election because he failed to call Obama a terrorist, Marxist, or racist often enough. His pandering to those elements in his party probably cost him what credibility he had as a moderate in a tough year for Republicans. Most Americans did not find Obama to be a radical subversive who was bent on infiltrating the White House. After four years of his presidency that's even clearer. This is one of those arguments that is so over-the-top and obscure it's likely to impinge into the credibility of other arguments against Obama. I'm not convinced they are actually going to go through with this, but its a $10 million backfire that, from what I gather from the article, was drafted by amateur strategists (i.e. extreme partisans who think being an extreme partisan is how to win elections).

I'm confused. I feel sorry for McCain to be honest. He doesn't deserve this criticism. Wrong place wrong time. If McCain had avoided Palin or if he was running now I think he'd have a good chance to have won.
