Really what was tougher yesterday, coming in where he did or Marshall facing the part of the lineup he faced? Make no mistake about it Chapman "closed" that game in a way your best relief pitcher should. The guy that trots out in the 9th gets the save, but Chapman closed the game.

You have perfectly stated why the "save" figure is worthless. No question Chapman came in during the hardest part of the game for the pen. I've never understood why a manager saves the best "closer" for the 9th when often times it's the 7th or 8th that gets the hottest.

I will give Homer credit, last night he battled a long at bat with Uggla and struck him out on a breaking pitch, then proceeded to walk McCann on 4 straight, and I thought, well the wheels have left the cart. And he ended up getting out of it to his credit.

I may have too, but if the plan is to get Chapman into the rotation when Bray comes back I like seeing what Marshall can do as the "closer". If he fails miserably, which I don't think he will, they might not be able to move Chapman. Plus this gives Dusty a chance to use Chapman when it really matters.
