Why I love Chuck

Featured Replies

During the regular season "Inside the NBA" is the biggest reason to watch the Thursday night games, sometimes I'll just DVR for that show alone. Chuck is the man.

Gasol averaged 17 and 10 in the regular season on 14 shots per game game shooting 51%

In the series Vs OKC he averaged 12 and 10 on 10 shots per game shooting 44%

He simply wasn't being aggressive enough and got pushed out of the paint on offense vs the OKC big guys.

The lost the series because they couldn't guard Westbrook not because of any one guy on offense but to act like it was Kobe's fault is a joke.

I guess I watched a different series or just view it differently. I watched the bigs for LA do more than hold their own and at times dominate only to watch half way through the fourth qtr Kobe try to take over.

I am actually a big Kobe fan but it seemed it had to be about him the later it got in the game.

Funny. When he's scoring and winning nobody cares. When he misses shots it's all his fault and the shots he takes. Smh...

That's the point. Kobe needs to know that it isn't his night, and trust that Gasol and Bynum can take them home. The Lakers obviously have no issue letting Kobe do his thing, but if he's not hitting and still shooting, he's going to get criticized. I don't blame him. I don't know if you can trust Bynum's intellect, and Gasol is made of glass.

But in all the games he was fine in the first three quarters do why wouldn't he keep shooting? Plus if he gets the ball with 8 seconds on the shot clock and nobly else has a shot what should he do? It's not like he was shooting shots that were uncalled for. He looked for teammates too much but if he gives it to Pau to shoot and Pau passes it or Bynum can't get posted on the block properly what should Kobe do?

I used to have a copy of Barkley's (and Wilbon's) book "Who's Afraid of a Large Black Man". Fascinating read; I'll have to see if it's still in the house.

Chuck tells it like it is.

I have the Mike Wilbon/Chuck collabo "I May Be Wrong But I Doubt It". Very good read.

Barkley said tonight that he would "Hate to see the shirt Russell Westbrook didn't buy."

If you were watching when the kids were on the court playing after the game was over, one kid was dribbling non stop and never passing and he asked if it was Westbrook out there :notworthy:
