Covington Catholic 10 Beechwood 0 (5 innings) 35 District Seeding game

The bantering might have been self inflicted, since the pitcher had been posting insults on Facebook toward CCH players and students for months. If he didn't want the heat he would be well advised to watch what he says. Unless you have alot more game, than I saw from him.

The power of social media can be very positive and in this case very negative. Be careful what you put on FB because it truely will never go away!

The cch kids arent exactly angels on facebook and twitter though all kids should think before they post.

Rumor has it Corey Severson hurt his shoulder and is out for the season?

Fortunately, CCH is deep but this is a huge blow to the Colonels. Great kid who is fully committed to being a great player.

I heard it was his elbow. Too bad for anyone getting hurt especially in their senior season.

Once again, you just have to admire the one-side-of-the-story, cry baby response to a CCH cheering section. We all know that it's those awful parochial schools -- those independent school students would never, and I mean never, use a negative connotation or denotation in a cheer.

On another note, that is really unfortunate for Corey Severson, if that is true. I'm sorry to hear that. I have been unable to make it up to a game, but plan on attending some soon.

Corey Severson tore the Ulnar Collateral Ligament in his elbow last Saturday against Madison Central. He is supposed to have an MRI today. If it's a partial tear, he will be put in some sort of brace for about 8 weeks, and scar tissue will heal over it. If it is a complete tear, he will require Tommy John surgery. Either way, his season is unfortunately over.

What happened to Severson ?

Corey has a partial tear or a full tear in the ligament of his elbow. He was having an MRI today. He will know more next week, but his season is over.

Well, one of you is right!
