April 23, 201214 yr So far in 28 AB this year for the Braves. .286 AVG 3 HR 7 RBI May go down as one of the worst trades Jocketty made as a Red. Still too early to tell, but hey, at least Willie Harris is on the roster.:lol:
April 23, 201214 yr I don't think we got the better play in the trade that is for sure. He was out of options and Walt/Dusty was mad he showed up in camp fat and not ready to play. I'm guessing he didn't want a guy who can only play one position taking up a roster space to backup Rolen.

But he could play more than one position, it just irritates me that they kept Harris over Francisco.

April 24, 201214 yr I looked it up. He has made 3 errors and has an .813 fielding percentage. Francisco is a clown.

April 24, 201214 yr Same amount the Reds 3B have made. Francisco has appeared in 8 games. He sucks, if you took your kids to a game and sit behind 1st base with him playing 3rd they should arrest you for child endangerment.

But he can hit, and that is a department in which the Reds are seriously lacking. It just irritates me the Reds traded him so they could keep Harris.

I really don't think that's why they dealt him. I think it had to do more with the production Frazier gave them in the spring, and frankly, Francisco didn't have a long term spot with the Reds. While Hoover may not be a better player than Francisco, he'll probably end up giving the Reds more in the long run than they saw Juan giving.
April 24, 201214 yr ^ Rolen is gone after this year, he could have easily fit in at 3B next year. Even with them expecting Frazier to fill that spot?

They dealt him because of the roster crunch, and he had no options. I'm saying it would have been better to keep a young guy like Francisco who has some pop from the left side than to keep Harris who gives you very little.
