March 16, 201214 yr Author Sure.. credit to those guys. I just think its a bit silly to say there was 100% no reason to think UConn could be a tough draw. Turns out they weren't. :idunno: There's a reason they were a 9 seed and finished the season on the wrong side of the scoreboard 14 times...
March 16, 201214 yr There's a reason they were a 9 seed and finished the season on the wrong side of the scoreboard 14 times... Doesn't mean they weren't dangerous as a 9 seed. The other 9s were Saint Louis, Alabama, and Southern Miss.
March 16, 201214 yr Author Doesn't mean they weren't dangerous as a 9 seed. The other 9s were Saint Louis, Alabama, and Southern Miss. And WKU was a dangerous 16 seed
March 16, 201214 yr Author Way to change the subject. What do you want me to say? Alabama is well coached and played UK to a 6-7 point game AT rupp earlier this year. Southern Miss beat 4 tournament teams. St. Louis is well coached. Like I said there's a reason UCONN lost 14 games this year. They don't play together as a team. Sure they have some NBA players but that doesn't make them a scary opponent. The projected #2 pick in the draft had 2 points last night...

The projected #2 pick in the draft had 2 points last night... LOL at the justifications for Southern Miss and St. Louis. When your best argument is "they're well coached," you should probably just stop. As for beating tournament teams... UConn beat (3) Florida St, (12) Harvard, (12) USF, (16) UNC-A, (10) WVU (twice), and (7) Notre Dame.

March 17, 201214 yr Author Change the subject, hindsight, yada yada yada... It's not hindsight when you've been saying it the entire time...
March 17, 201214 yr Because they were the preseason #4 team in the country? Obviously they didn't live up to that billing, but the talent and coaching is there. Its easy to look back and say it was a given that UConn wouldn't show up. Hindsight and whatnot. Called UConn over rated since summer and had NO worries about UK playing them. The only worries I have about UK with any team is that the Cats don't play to the best of their ability, if they do that they can't be beat.
March 17, 201214 yr It's not hindsight when you've been saying it the entire time... You said "all the teams" so you're not just talking UConn. You had Duke going out in the first round?
March 17, 201214 yr Author You said "all the teams" so you're not just talking UConn. You had Duke going out in the first round? I'm talking about UK not being in the toughest region. Which is clearly being proven true...
March 17, 201214 yr This just shows that they did not belong in this tourney. Big East overrated as a conference once again.
March 17, 201214 yr Author You said "all the teams" so you're not just talking UConn. You had Duke going out in the first round? And I had them going out to Xavier in the secound round...
