March 13, 201214 yr Verne is terrible. He does all the football CBS games and it amazing he has a job. Bill is ok but the age of these two is how much I wonder? I will always have Verne's back for one reason. The call he had during the Duke-UK "Greatest Game" in '92. When Laettner stepped on Timberlake, Len Elmore immediately began to say, "I don't know if he really meant to do that on purpose." Without hesitation and with much force Verne responded: "Oh, yes he did." He's not afraid to call it like it is as he sees it. His call on that game made it just as memorable IMO.
