I was going to go with Boone until I saw some of the notes about Knott County. It's a toss up now!!

 

 

Notes in this thread or notes elsewhere? If elsewhere, what notes did you see? I don't see anything in this thread that would cause concern for Boone. In fact, most of what I have read here makes me think Boone has a good shot at winning this one.

Just read the preview of this game. Based on that, the biggest factor in this game will be Cooper Downs guarding Cameron Justice. Downs almost always guards the best player on the other team and keeps that player under control. Davis versus McQueary is also a very interesting matchup.

:deadhorse: Many kids are held back during Middle School all over the state because they lack maturity. They just happen to be stud basketball players which is uncanny. LOL

 

I realize that. I had not it put in the terms of a redshirt before. As long as they are age eligible as a senior, I don't think it matters. I have a relative, who is not involved in any sports, that was held back due to lack of maturity.

Voluntarily held back. I was just pointing out that they are not all athletes.

Is there a such thing as a redshirt in high school?

 

They must repeat a grade before they reach high school, but they would still be considered a redshirt for athletic purposes. After they reach high school they would lose a year of eligibility if they repeated a grade. Most of them do it in the 6th or 7th grade.

I'm a big fan of Justice. Matlock may be considered the best player in the class of 2015, but Justice is the best guard. I love the way he plays and am looking forward to seeing him Thursday.
