2024-25 Montgomery County Indians

It's a pretty tough schedule. Last year, I think their schedule was a little too much for them. It will be interesting to see how they do with the added players and more experience. -

Sayre at Bracken County Predictions/Updates

I think this game will have both teams in the 30s. I think Bracken’s passing defense won’t be enough. -

From 10thRegion.com: Polar Bears break the season ice with a 42-0 win over Harrison County The Bracken County and Harrison County football programs met for the first time in Cynthiana on Friday night to kick off the 2024 football season. The Polar Bears outran the Thorobreds to win 42-0 over 4A Harrison County. This game was initially supposed to be between Bracken and Pendleton. However, Pendleton opted out of playing the second game of the two-year cycle. Neighboring Harrison County was also looking for a game, so the two teams agreed to play once. Bracken scored on their opening drive when quarterback Jackson Whitten found Andrew Kirk 33 yards away in the endzone. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827132563703656532?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA Daulton Tarter scored the next touchdown with an 8-yard run with just under a minute left in the first half. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827141341697978401?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA Coming out of the locker room, the Polar Bears forced a three and out. Jordan Bravard would take the reverse from Tarter and break loose for a 73-yard touchdown run. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827151121296609324?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA Dalton Tarter would get an interception on a batted ball at midfield and take it back to the Harrison County 20-yard line. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827157381458833768?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA With 1:46 left in the third, Daulton Tarter had his helmet ripped off, and a Thorobred defender’s face mask cut Tarter’s head open on the tackle. Tarter came out for the remainder of the game, bleeding from the top of his head. He was treated by Dr. Daryl Emery on the sideline, who stitched him up after the game. Last season as a sophomore, Tarter ran for 1,436 yards with 25 touchdowns in 10 games. He averaged 14.8 carries and 143.6 yards per game. He starts his junior year with 20 carries for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns. After a long delay, Jackson Whitten would find Andrew Kirk in the endzone on the very next play for a 38-yard touchdown. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827161593219539119?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA Sophomore quarterback Jackson Whitten was 11 of 14 on passes for 127 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception. Codee Lippert would score on a 7-yard touchdown run with 7:53 left in the game, putting the Polar Bears up 42-0 after a two-point conversion. https://x.com/tenthregion/status/1827163249588007000?s=46&t=sb5B9v3WSK1pfSe3TvYIlA Harrison County finished the game with just 37 rushing yards on 24 attempts. Quarterback JaCory Hinton had -18 rushing yards; however, he completed 10 of 13 passes in his first varsity start for 72 yards. Jashon Lewis had 74 yards on 8 receptions and also had an interception. Bracken County is now 1-0 on the season and will host Sayre on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Sayre Spartans defeated Bracken County 40-21 last season in Lexington. According to the latest Herald-Leader coaches' poll, Sayre is ranked #4 in the state in 1A. -
The 2A Polar Bears take on the 4A Thorobreds in Cynthiana. This is the first time the two teams have played. This game came open when Pendleton County dropped Bracken of the schedule, and Bracken and Harrison both needed a game. Harrison has over twice the enrollment of Bracken, but it looks like it will be a good one.

@Mustang I’m sure will have more stats than me. I also wanted to say he is one of the most dedicated supporters of high school athletics. Wishing you well this season! Bracken County led 32-7 after three varsity quarters with the the JV Mustangs scoring to make it 32-14 final. Bishop Brossart 7 varsity points came on a heads up play. Keegan Gulley caught a pass which was then fumbled and instantly picked up by Cameron Mandel for a touchdown. Before that a 70 yard fumble recovery TD was called back for a block in the back. I was very impressed by Polar Bears Daulton Tarter (RB) and Caleb Emery (lineman).

From the school’s Facebook page: Bell County School District Announces Facility Projects The Bell County School District is excited to announce a series of significant facility projects aimed at enhancing the quality and versatility of our sports and educational infrastructure. In a move to modernize our athletic facilities, both the baseball and softball fields are being replaced with high-quality turf. This upgrade will not only provide our student-athletes with state-of-the-art playing surfaces but will also allow these fields to serve as auxiliary venues for other sports. The softball field will now be available for soccer, and the baseball field can be utilized by elementary and middle school football teams. This multi-sport functionality ensures that our students have access to top-notch facilities, allowing for more flexibility in practice times. All athletic fields will be upgraded with state-of-the-art LED lighting. Improvements are also scheduled for our tennis courts. The courts will be resurfaced and covered with a lighted hoop structure, providing safety and convenience for our athletes. Bell County High School will undergo a comprehensive renovation to upgrade areas that are part of the original construction. The school restrooms are set for a complete remodel and upgrade, ensuring a cleaner, more comfortable environment for our students. Additionally, the front of the building, including the upstairs atrium area, will be revamped to present a more welcoming and structurally sound facade. These projects represent our commitment to providing our students with the best possible facilities to support their academic and extracurricular activities. By investing in our infrastructure, we aim to create an environment that fosters learning, teamwork, and school pride. We look forward to seeing our students thrive in these improved spaces and invite the community to join us in celebrating these exciting developments.
