Valid points, although I think JCPS' defense will be that these schools are optional to attend if they are magnet (correct?) so as a result it is not on the hook to provide transportation to them if it elects not to do so. Not sure if that would hold up legally but I can see them using that argument.

LeBron's last game as a Laker?
DanvilleFan replied to Jumper_Dad's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
But how much of this is LeBron's fault when he tries to play GM and make some moves and basically ends up gutting a roster around him? This has been a pattern in his career where teams trade lots of assets to build something for LeBron. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But there's a pattern in his career of going to teams and diminishing returns set in and then he bounces for greener pastures almost as if he is one of those aliens in Independence Day who suck up the resources of a planet before moving on to the next. -

Just imagine the headache for this as a coach if you aren't giving enough minutes to LeBron's son. Like, what if he demands he gets a starting spot? Have to feel bad for his son too. He clearly needs some more seasoning in the college game and instead you are going to be drafted not by your ability but solely because your dad demands it. Nepotism at its finest (which isn't unique of course to the NBA and pro sports). -
Has anyone heard anything about this job? I've heard nothing substantial.

I can't see the NBA Players Association being happy with a player of LeBron's caliber taking the league minimum. That hurts their whole collective bargaining position, even if LeBron is getting older and his production isn't what it was. -
Saw that Danville also posted a PE/Health job in the past week. So it seems like this job is definitely open. Haven't heard anything locally about candidates, though.

I couldn't remember if they even removed the "interim" tag from him last year. I'm sure that they did because that tag was given because of paperwork/HR reasons but yeah, I've wondered the same thing.

Ed Mckinney named HC at Frankfort

Still wish he was coaching the Ads! -
With Danville continuing to lose athletes to surrounding schools it may be difficult to bring in a good coach and generate a lot of interest. This will be the Ads third coach in 3 years.

Hard for me to see Colorado posting that record in the new Big 12.

2024 Lincoln County Patriots

The virtriol is more about Danville ending the series (at least from loyal fans). I think Danville had already contacted Lincoln about a game, hence their decision to cancel Boyle. I don't see why you would do that unless you already have someone else you can slot in there. -

Sad to hear that. I thought as an alum Ford would stay in that job for a while. Danville should make an immediate call to Woods. He won't take it but hey, a man can dream! -

This was a rebuilding year for Danville under Ford. I'm looking forward to seeing what year 2 brings for the Ads. -

Yeah, it's been really sad to see in the games I've attended as of late. The whole vibe/energy is like a ghost town. If you'd have told me it'd be that way in the 1980s or 1990s, I would've said you were nuts.
