Rocket, I know your pain, last spring I had what looked like a pimple on my right buttcheek but didn't give it much thought and continued to go about my business. A few days later it had gotten a bit bigger so naturally I gave it a squeeze or two and thought I was fine. About a week later what I thought was a painful boil had turned into a open sore that when squeezed would protrude with blood and the thick white puss. I FREAKED!!! It progressively became worse and to this day I have never been in a worse pain(imagine driving a vehicle with ZERO shock absorption). I went to the doctor and I was given a few antibiotics and told to sit in hot water and epson salt then sent on my way.
This case cleared up and to my knowledge I was healthy once again. Or so I thought...About a month and a half went by and another one of these "pimples" came up about an inch from the one before. I kept a close eye on this one and before long the same symptoms happened but it had now been diagnosed as MRSA. I was told the infection had channeled from the previous spot to this one and was much worse and much more painful. There was much more of the thick chunky puss this time and all they could do was give me a steroid of some sort I believe.
So far I've been alright and MRSA free but it is definitely the worse pain I have ever been in. Trust me the phobia of believing that everything you touch, breath, or see will give you MRSA will go away with time but don't quit being cautious. It was much worse for me the second time.
