  1. JC wins 14-0, 5 innings, Conley pitches "perfect game". Possibly first since mid 1990's
  2. There was only a lot of substituting on defense. However, several boys working the offensive side of the ball were only in on a few plays. They basically ran a one back offense with only two or three guys getting a chance to play the position (mainly two). The other players deserved the same opportunity as everyone else, but were not given it. I thought the game was to "showcase" everyone's talent that got invited - or at least give them an opportunity. Two and half cold days of practice and they had to stand and watch. I still don't understand why there was not more substituting on offense to give equal playing time to those on that side of the ball.
  3. Conley has a great game pitching and adds a three run double. This kid has received very little mention over the years, but continues to come through with big wins over the last 5 years. As Firebird said earlier he is a good player. We'll see more of him as he is only a junior.
  4. Mike Conley pitched for the Eagles.Allowed only five hits with Shepherd giving up six hits. Conley had nine strikouts and Shepherd had 10. Both pitchers had an outstanding game. Conley may be one of the best "unheard of" pitchers in this region. He has pitched consistently for the Eagles since his seventh grade year including impressive wins in recent years against Boyd Co. Paintsville,Lawrence, and Pikeville. He also pitched the finals in the sectional last year to take them to the state. I look for Shepherd and Conley to only get better as Conley is a junior and Shepherd is a freshman. Good luck to both players. The eagles have to score runs if they hope to have a good year, I think that not having a field to play and practice on is proving to hurt them tremendously. I was also impressed with Hayes as always.
  5. Mike Conley and Jo Whitaker both had 12 points a piece
  6. Justin Blanton, Mike Conley, Aaron haney all named to tournament team, Fyffe named MVP. Conley had both a tremendous District and Regional tournament. His hit early in the game seemed to be the spark the Eagles needed to get into the game, he also scored twice. Richardson made a nice catch in the gap to help the winning cause.
  7. I believ Aaron Haney of JCHS was in attendance. He is a good hitter so i hope the wind didnt affect it too much because i would love for him to get noticed by a program like the Cumberlands.
  8. and McCarty gave a lot of the credit to Mike Conley, I would like to see more of this from all the team!!
  9. After this being our first year of soccer at our school, i have come to like it alot. I attended many of the games and i was wondering who some of the good soccers players in eastern Kentucky would be? My vote go to Daniel Mccarty, PJ Collins, and Caleb Sloan of JC. Caleb is only a freshman and i know he will be attending a camp at UK this weekend but i was just wanting everyone's opinion on the subject.
  10. This year he has definitely improved in that aspect. JC didnt break off plays and he just let the shots come to him, because the majority he was WIDE open. Also, he does look at his teammates and has became the leader that this club needs. Last night, they had so much confidence in this young man as the players kept feeding him the ball and thats the way a team should play. Great win for the eagles and an awesome accomplishment by JAMIE MCCARTY!!!!!!!!!
  11. Yeah i totally agree but great effort by this young man. :thumb:
  12. WOW...i wish i could have been there for this game... sounds like it was a nailbiter
  13. YES. this is true!!!... The football field will be turned around where the endzone is towards the river adn the baseball field with also be turned . This will eliminate the burden of many sun delays. The infiel of the baseball field will be turf and the grass from the football field will be picked up and be placed in the outfield of the baseball field. You are also correct about the turf football field. The soccer games will also be played on the football field. Matney has said he is all for it and when soccer has a game, he will practice on the practice fields and soccer agrees. Class act move by matney. He is for all sports. The indoor faciltiy will be big enough to practice in and for baseball to throw and anything else. They will name it after the late superintendent of johnson county schools Orville Hamilton.
