  1. B-ville wins the CFIT. Congrats to the tigers.
  2. I thought the game turned for St James when they had a technical foul called on them with a 6 to 8 point lead.
  3. Can't remember the score, but Barbourville won by 16 to 18 points. They will play Greenup County in the finals Friday night.
  4. I thought Christian Academy of Louisville was 2A now?
  5. B-ville pretty much controled the game, they had a little trouble at times with the press of Poinciana. It looked like after the 3rd quarter B-ville was going to blow it open, but Poinciana didn't quit. I didn't understand why Poinciana didn't shot 3 pointers towards the end of the game. Outside of #3 they didn't have much of an outside game.
  6. Could be, Jackson County beat OBI and Lynn Camp has beaten Jackson County twice, and Cumberland. OBI played Corbin tough, and Cumberland beat Jackson by double digits and took Harlan to OT. I really think ranking the class a teams in the 13th is very hard to do. Harlan and Barbourville should be well ahead of the rest of the pack, but yet to take their game to that level. Teams 1-7 that I ranked all have a good shot at the 13th all a region title.
  7. For the 13th 1. Harlan 2. B-ville 3. Pineville 4. Middlesboro 5. Lynn Camp 6. Cumberland 7. OBI 8. Evarts 9. Williamsburg 10. Red Bird
  8. Congrats to Jimmy Chaffin, and the rest of LC winners and Class A winners. Well deserved.
  9. Leslie County won over Pike Central, by double digits I believe. They play Miami Senior today at North.
  10. I agree he is a great player. The Dunk he had today was one of the best I have ever seen. The kid is a ball player.
  11. Jim or Les or whoever knows, what does the games schedule look like tomorrow?
  12. It was the same year Corbin lost to Jackson County at Clay, Hicks last game as Coach. I went to the classic Corbin- Harlan game that year, that was on WYMT. Corbin and Harlan drew in opposite brackets in the 13th region tourney, and WYMT had it set to televise the second meeting, but both teams didn't make it. Instead Clay and Jackson played on WYMT, with Clay winning. Harlan was ranked top 25 in the nation that year. Getting back on topic South is heads and shoulders above every team in the region, but they can't take it for granted.
  13. I don't know about that year. Corbin played Clay County one time and beat them by 20+ in the finals of the CFIT.
  14. You can take what I put in bold that you said, and put Newell's name in place of Deaton, and place any of the backs I mentioned in for Scalf. Nick was a very capable qb, it shouldn't be his fault of the style of offense his is in, and the same for Scott Newell for that matter. Both made big plays for there teams when called upon, and I think that is part of the reason they were awarded.
  15. Sure it has more to with just stats. If that is the case you can make argument for Mefford, Roskopf, Reynolds, and Teddy Thompson for the top running back.

  17. I saw somewhere that he was replacing Patrick until the election.
  18. Mendon High school in Michigan, is around the area I grew up. They are a very small school, that sits out in the middle of nowhere, mainly just farm boys. They won their 8th state title in the last 17 years, and have only lost between 20 and 30 games in that span. This years state title team the biggest player they had weighed only 220 lbs.
  19. We are returning 5 starters on offense and 4 to 5 on defense. Including all the o and d lineman, but 3, two starters on defense and 1 on offense. Imo the top returning running back in the district Joe Roskopf. What really helped LC last year was a lot of kids played, now the kids that rotated in and out with the seniors this year will need to step up and be ready to take on a bigger role. LC should field a good team.
  20. I would expect Harlan to be a little better next year. Even with Thompson they struggled on offense, their defense was solid as always, but will need to improve on offense to move up in the district. It think the district will be a little more even next year. This year Somerset and Lynn Camp were both well ahead of the pack, but I think it will be more wide open next year.
