  1. Villa's number 4 starter Joey Neal got the ball today and pitched well. Silver Grove pitched their ace Davidson. Schroth for Villa came in relief in the 5th and got the win. Brian Hamilton hit a 3 run homer. Hamilton and Ries were int. walked in the bottom of the 7th with 2 out to load the bases for Trinkle. Trinkle drew a walk and scored Ries to win the game 6-5 for Villa. This is Villa second straight win.
  2. If he was taken out and came back in the same slot, I see no violation.
  3. Villa scored 6 in the first and never looked back. Score could have been a lot worse. Will Reis pitched 6 innings gave up only 1 hit and no runs. Will also went 2 for 4. Dayton had a few errors in the first but after that settled down and made some good plays.:dancingpa
  4. Villa Madonna before their game with Newport added coach Brown's initials on the side of their hat. Coach Brown not only did a lot for Newport schools and the baseball program but was a long time face of NKY baseball he will be missed.
  5. Villa started a 8th grader in right yesterday and a freshman at 2nd.
  6. God forbid someone say that Villa might be improving and thats why their last 2 games have been good ones. I also think I heard that the pitcher for Newport was a lefty sometimes difficult to get a good jump on them.
  7. :thumb: :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: You are very correct, and I know this to be true as well!!!
  8. Villa had chances but just could not get the "big" hit. They had runners on 3rd and second with 2 outs twice and struck out and flew out. In the 6th they had bases loaded with Hamilton up and he struck out. In the 7th a 2 run double was hit by Steinkonig to push the score to 7-6 however the ball was called foul by the ump and was not a good call. So the 2 runners were sent back. It was a good game played by both squads. Good luck to St. Henry, as for Villa looks like things are starting to push forward and they may turn the corner fairly soon.
  9. Why is there no recreation department? I hope money is not the problem it would be hard for me to buy into that. Newport has to generate a lot of tax money with the levee and all. Also I believe property tax is high in that area too, Im sure they would have enough to finance a recreation department.
  10. I give it to the rain, if you look at the forcast;)
  11. Villa vs Holmes @ Miken 5:00 March 20th
  12. These 2 teams will become district foes starting next year. With Cooper joining the 33rd St. Hanks will be moved to the 34th. This game tonight may start a loong time rivalry
  13. Villa has been out in the parking lot, and in the outfield doing drills once.
  14. Ha Ha it was Tony Dungy himself who picked up that snap and ran it back.
  15. I know, I know far fetched, but what if Eli would have fumbled the snap and the Pats would have picked up the ball and ran it back? Yes the game was over and yes he shook hands but he left his players out there I did not like it.
  16. Congratulations to Coach Beigs!!!! I know coach Sawyers from Villa and coach Beigs were together last year at Scott helping with coach Roberts. The two have battled in the past in the 33rd when Beigs was at St. Henry and Sawyers was a assistaint coach at Conner, now they will meet again, that district looks to have some fun battles in it thats for sure. Ludlow has recieved a great coach. I hope the players and parents give him a true chance. My only question is Beigs knows how to put a field together and keep it outstanding. In Ludlow he has no grass to work with ha ha ha!!!:thumb: Once again congrats to Ludlow and coach Beigs!!!
  17. Moore could have played a bigger role for them He is a OUTSTANDING player. I have had the chance to coach him. As for this thread Bluegrass is a AWSOME program to be in and shows if you surround yourself with "QUALITY PEOPLE" you will do well!
