  1. Great post! If the HHS team has the same attitude as some of the posters JC already has an edge. JC has nothing but respect for HHS and knows it will have its hand full, but will not be intimidated by all this talk about who you have played and how many titles you have won and how talented you are. What is behind does not count, the game is with JC Friday night, rest assued Matney will have his team ready!
  2. I enjoyed watching Collinsworth play for the Bengals and knew he had Mountain ties. I hope his son considers UK, we always need good in state players. Come on down and enjoy a great game! We have had many battles with Ashland, but in the end both teams fans respect the other team and love watching great players make plays! That is what makes our District so great and unique. We have a big order in HHS and need all the support we can get!
  3. I am sure the JC coaching staff would love to have this to review to see where you think they are weak. Let the JC players read what the HHS fans think! Most of the post on here from HHS are classy and I am sure that most of the fans are as well. Some of these posts suggest JC just pack it in and quit. Won't happen. JC will be ready to play and compete! This will be an awesome game. I think I can speak for most of the JC fans and say we love to win and have been sucessful, but we enjoy watching great players make great plays and the field will be full Friday Night! HHS fans drive safe and come enjoy a great game.
  4. No, I had no clue about any Ohio teams or what they ran. I just wanted to know what it would take be beat a team as awesome as HHS. Like I said they must have been an awesome team to HHS.
  5. I was wondering, HHS had one defeat this year and it must have been a very outstanding team! Who was the team and how did they beat HHS. What did they exploit?
  6. It is hard to agrue with this logic and the numbers, but games must be played on the field. Very tough test for JC, probably the biggest game in school football history. Look for Matney to shore up the weakness that have been mentioned on this site, but still a big order. The Eagles will show up to play and will compete. One predcition I can make is the winner of this game will be State Champ!
  7. I was not at the game, but what I was told that Sheldon Clark made the best run at a very good HHS team as anyone had. I loved watching Lorenzen and Smith as a UK fan! Matney has a way of getting the maximum performance out of his kids and putting them in a position to win. Tall order this week with all the talent HHS has, but don't count the Eagles out yet. As I said earlier, we are just glad to be in a positon to be on the same field as HHS and competing for the regiional title!
  8. I am a long time Eagle fan as well and could not have said it better. In the lean years, maybe 20 people would show up and we were the doormat of not just the state, but of the mountians. After watching those games in the lean years it is a pleasure and honor to watch our Eagles on the same field with teams like HHS. From doormat to state contender in five years is a sweet and awesome ride!
  9. HHS is an outstanding team and JC will have to have the game of thier life to beat them. For some of you old HHS fans, Matney gave Lorenzon and Smith a scare while he was at Sheldon Clark. How does this team compare to that team? I am a UK fan and I hope they are talking with Collinsworth. Anyone now who is looking at him?
  10. Welch picked up another interception tonight, how many does he need for the state record? How fast is Collinsworth and the rest of the receivers? I hear HHS overall speed is awesome.
  11. CC could not have beat Brayn Station and would have struggled with Woodford at the first of the year. I do not think they could have beat Ashland. This is just based on what I saw tonight. When was the last time a team ran for over 500 yards on CC and a runner had over 225 yards? Hey guys not rubbing it in, but all last week the post for CC said JC was too slow and one dimensional, and maybe we are, but it works!
  12. They had 11 and would have had the coaches if they could. Very dominating performace by JC. This CC was not anywhere near the 06 team. From what I saw tonight, CC would have finished fourth in our district and several 3A, 2A and a few 1A teams in our area could beat them. Van Sant is awesome, great speed.
  13. JC will have to play a perfect game to take this one. Highlands is a great team. The best game in the state. IMO #1 and #2 in 5A. It a shame they have to face each other so soon. Colonel Fan, I read your post all last week about how one dimensional JC was. Looks like CC got a dose of one dimensional smash mouth tonight. Your team is out! I will say that Van Sant is a good a player as we have faced, great speed. Will Chris Collinsworth be at the game? I would love to get his autograph!
  14. Don't worry, from what I am hearing the Paintsville system may not be around much longer and they mean less and less to JC as time goes by!
  15. My prediction will be when CC brings that tough schedule, faster team, more balanced team, the team with more tradition from an area that has better football, the slow one dimensional Eagles will take this one and move on. I would like to invite everyone down, the sun is out now and the snow is melting. There is nothing better than playoff time in Johnsonville!
  16. I know riht where it is, come down and root the Eagles all the ay to the carpet.( I bet some genius form NKY will write two pages why this is wrong)
  17. Sounds great ane we appricate it! I think I am the only JC fan on here. Hope you guys get there too. Good Luck!
  18. Fugate comes back bieng the best hand down! Varney form Belfry. How about Nathan Dillion, Tanner Bratton, JJ Jude and JK Hall for Johnson Central? These guys will get to run the ball.
  19. I had no idea of the stats, but it seems when we have passed we have had some big plays. With a team like JC when you pass and make big yards it sticks out in your mind. The catches Welch makes just stick out in your mind and Welch is cabable of making a game changing catch at anytime on any team. We are not one of the top throwing teams in the state, but we have the ability to make the big play with a pass.
  20. Quicker than 06. Not 4.4 speed, but quick enough. This team is known more for power than speed, but is fast for a JC team. Since we have basically ground the ball out with three power runners, our quicker players have not had the ball that much. We have shown most of our speed on defense. Bryan Station has great team speed and no one from BS ran past us. But we are not the fastest team in 5A either.
  21. Good post, do not forget Dials and Grim were on that team too. This years team does not have the individual players that the 06 team did, but I think are stronger as a team. I think this team may be a little quicker across the board, espcially the DBs.
  22. Your are right. Every team we have played have lined up with as many as 11 in the box. I realize as we move forward each week teams will be more effective in stopping our run. The reason our passing game is not up to speed yet is we have not had to through the ball. I feel assured Matney and Co are working on the pass this week. Most of JC passing plays for years have been touch downs or big yard gainers. If we could get the passing game going just enough to keep CC honest in the box it would help. I know it is not reflected here, but JC has a passing game and enough talent to be effective, just have to get it going. Is anyone recruiting Van Sant, I hear he is awesome! Is the Isler kid at QB pretty moble, he appears to have plenty of size?
  23. Who are the LB for CC and what is their size? How quick are they? Who is the best defenseive player for CC?
