Congrats to Fairview! With all the turmoil in preseason, you started the season with a win. Way to go Coach Cooksey and Coach McPeek!

Congrats to the Raiders, and Coach Baldwin! The Raiders wanted it more and got the win. As I have stated before, unless Boyd gets an offensive line established and utilizes their big linemen (I saw several over 6 fters, standing on the sidelines), they won't be going very far. Boyd has some of the best skilled players around but, I will say it again, "you win or lose by your line."

Gatlin Barker - Boyd County

Body had some really good skilled players, but the offensive and defensive lines were by far what hurt Boyd. Unless the line steps up, I'm afraid I don't see Boyd going too far this season. Yes, I know this was just a scrimmage but, you win or lose by your line. After two scrimmages and the season beginning next week, I'm afraid Boyd has a long way to go, with no time to get there. Just my opinion.

Add Wendy's to the restaurant list. The Daily Independent has 7pm game time, but the players are still saying around 7:30.

Yes, it is official. The only change would be the heat index pushing the time later, but 7:30 scrimmage to start, as of now.

Caleb graduated and will be playing baseball at Asbury. Damron is no longer their head coach, Baldwin is, I believe. Damron is now Principal at East.

The field looks really good, much better than I had speculated that it would. I did wonder how it would be set up, considering you had a confined area to work with. I was hoping though, that visitor's seating would be on the opposing side, but I'm sure when you build the new fan seating it will be able to contain both sides comfortably. Your field looks wonderful, Eagles, I applaud all your hard work!

I was told that Belfry will scrimmage Boyd County on August 10th. I couldn't find out at what time or where, I was told it was TBD. Does anyone have any info on this?
