This two game series seems to be the district deciding factor for both teams. Carroll may be able to lock up a number one seed with a sweep of the series, but Henry is not an easy opponent. Carroll is playing good ball now, behind solid defense and the sticks are finally rolling. What are the other factors going to be for this double header?

The kid does throw hard but no 96 mph he may hit high 80's sometimes but no way 96. As for the D1 there has been a couple of scouts around but I have not heard anything about it.

The Panthers played the field very well last night only making one error, but the bats are still not there the panthers had baserunners pretty much every inning and sometimes bases loaded and could not get them in. Very good outing from the pitcher Rippey the young lefty showed in maturity coming back after that home run and pitching a fabulous game. He is 2-0 on the season with is other win against Madison (JV). Very good showing by the panthers.

There is no reason why these two teams are playing each other. Also there is no reason why the score should have been that bad once a team is up big call off the dogs and play some ball players that don't see alot of playing time. That is very unsportsmen like.

I know one thing you better come to play on any given day cause any team in this region can upset anybody. Should be an interresting tourny when that time comes around.

Yes beechwoods field is the same as it was 3 years ago. All dirt infield, no outfield fence and no place to sit. One of the worst fields in the state but they are a pretty good baseball team. So it don't matter what kind of field you play on.

Yes Carroll and Gallatin both have played very real at times but at others they can be beat by any one. Both teams have very strong players and both teams have good starting pitching but relievers not so much. They need to get everything going in the second half of the year.

Gallatins field is nice but it still needs work. But Henry County has the nicest field in that area.

Very true Shelby and Simon Kenton has has a difficult start to the season. But Oldham County sure is playing good baseball from what i have heard. I would say any team on any day can win in this region.

Who will win the 8th Region?

The Panthers have some very talented ball players and a good coach that knows what he is talking about. Looking forward to see what they can do the rest of this year and the following years.

I would love to see high school go to wooden bats but all colleges need to go there first.

I agree that the change should be made to a wooden bat at the high school and college level. Not only of the saftey perspective but I enjoy the sound of a wooden bat, that to me is baseball.

Yes CC has a very good team when their heads are in the game. They make to many mental errors and get down on themselves to much. They need to pick it up in the second part of the season to be a contender in the region.

In that situation the coach knows what the player can do and if he is still throwing strong than he has the right to leave him in esp. if the player tells the coach he is fine. My first start this year I went 9 innings againts southern and threw 157 pitches and I was still throwing as hard if not harder in the 9th as I was in the first. So the coach knows his players and what they are capable and I am sure that if the coach thought he was jepordizing the kids future he would have never left him in for so long.

The panthers played very well in all aspects of the game i do not believe carroll made an error in the field and hit the ball well

The Carroll County Panthers faced Ballard last night at Jim Patterson field spite the hard effort of the panthers they lost by one in the 8th inning 6 to 5 The panthers was led by a strong pitching outing by nick larimore who kept their hitters off ballance all night. Some key hitting for ballard was the factor in this game when they needed a big hit they got one. the panthers swung the bat very well a 4 RBI night for Justin Blankenship and the rest of the line up swung the bats well all night. In the field i do not recall the panthers making an error. VERY GOOD OUTING LAST NIGHT TO BOTH TEAMS AND GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE WAY

There is no interference if the batter remains in the box and contiunes his normal swinging motion, but if he would have tried to get out of the way of the throw and the ball hit his bat then the batter would have been called for interference.
