No Offense taken. I hope you don't think this was pointed at you? I hear what you are saying, however don't you agree if a team is capable of competing with D1 teams, they should play D1? Seems to me alot of people are saying the Wolfpack team is capable of winning D1 state. If I was a wolfpack member, I would take this as a compliment and would want to play at the high level (as long as I felt my team can compete). Each team needs to do what is best for their team. Personally, I would rather lose playing against better competition (Again stressing being competitive) than beat teams by 30 every game.

Seems to me you would want to play at the most competitive level if you have a team that can compete? I don't understand why you would want to play D2 if you are competitive at the D1 level? Is it just to win a championship?

After looking at the website, I show these teams are D1: Pool1 Ville Central Ky Tigers Nky Hornets Pool 2 Louisville Suns Louisville Legends-Black Central Ky Warriors How do you see this playing out? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each team?

Why wouldn't the Wolfpack play D1? What about the Central Ky Tigers? Didn't they when last year?

This weekend is the 11U state. Any opinions on what teams from NKY will be playing and what division?

I have seen the Breds play 3 times (N. College Hill, Newport in the A, and Holmes). In the few games I have seen, Pangallo was the difference. The team goes as far as he takes them. A very nice player!!!

Sounds like the coach made some great adjustments!!!

I think Beau Hoge is a great player, however I don't think he is ready for 7th grade quite yet. He is a tremendous athlete, however 2 years makes a big difference. Again, this is not a shot at Beau. He is an incredible athlete. Isn't his 5th grade AAU team playing up this year at SOAS (6th grade)? How has he done?

Here is another situation. You have a senior that has started the prior year (maybe even the last 2yrs) and now a freshman comes into the program with more talent at her position. Maybe the senior started in prior years because the program was down (talent wise) and now a good group of underclassman came in. I understand its not who starts the game, but who is playing in crunch time, however does the coach continue to start the senior or not and risk losing her all together? Situation #1 - Start the senior, however play the freshman at the end of the game? Sit the freshman down and explain the situation. Situation #2 - Start the freshman because she is the better basketball player and risk losing the senior (if she does not buy into the coaches style)? As a high school coach, his/her role is not only about what happens on a basketball court. It's about teaching the kids life leasons. Something I think a lot of people forget is a responsibility of a coach. I am excited to hear everyone's opinion (#1 or #2)?

Many D2 teams lack not only the players, but alot of times a quality coach who can coach at that level. I mean coach, not complain about calls, but actually coach their team to success. Making adjustments, exploiting weaknesses and getting the ball into the hands of your scorer when the other team is trying to keep the ball out of that player's hands. Excellent points!!!

I agree. You should play where you are the most competitive. What NKY teams do play Div I? I have a friend who's son plays for the U11 Hornets and they played Div I and I believe finished 2nd. I am interested to know if any NKY teams will be playing Div I this year?

I agree with you NCC06. NewCath should win, however I would like to see them play with more heart than they did last night. Last night's game was ugly.

That is because all you do is bash kids, coaches and anyone else who volunteers their time to help high school girls basketball. Like others have said so many times before, it really sounds like you had a daughter that just did not live up to your expectations?

I have 2 finals this week. The first is Monday and last is Thursday. I can't wait until this is over!!!!!

I hope the entire team has a great season!!! All the girls and coaches have worked very hard and deserve any success they get (Along with all the teams in the 9th).

I believe Klei led this team to an All "A" regional championship and the championship in the All "A" State Finals. I could be mistaken, however the same team that beat them also won the Sweet 16 State Title (Lex Christian). Just curious steelers, did you achive this much during your playing days? Not sure how this is not a knock to the girls mentioned above?
