  1. Ryle gave St. Henry their one district loss (48-46) this season. St. Henry won their two other district games by 1 point each. I don't think the Crusaders are expecting any "gimme" games next week. I would expect the Ryle / St. Henry rematch to be just as tight as the first game.
  2. Holmes would have had Dicky Beal in the 70's and '80. CovCath had Jimmy Behle in the late 70's
  3. You can be sure that Faust will have a terrific game plan in place for UHA. Whether his boys can execute remains to be seen. His 2003 team won the All "A" state title and was the only team to give Mason Co. a game (2 point loss) in the Sweet 16 that year. If it weren't for losing his center to a knee injury during the game, they would have knocked out Mason Co. Coach Faust does well in big games. He will have his team ready!
  4. NCC has come back and now they're up 8 with approx. 3 minutes to go.
  5. Villa up 36 - 31 with approx. 7 minutes to go.
  6. I believe Boone still has to play both Conner & Ryle one more time. I think they've already played both, but I don't think they counted towards district seeding. If Boone wins both of those games, I believe St. Henry would get #1 based on head to head with Boone. If Boone loses to Ryle and beats Conner, I believe Ryle would get #1 because they beat St. Henry head to head. If Boone beats Ryle but loses to Conner, I believe St. Henry would still get #1 because they beat Conner head to head.
  7. Unbelievable! St. Henry is a grand total of 3 points away from being undefeated in the district and getting the #1 seed. They are also a grand total of 4 points away from going winless in district play and getting the #4 seed. The #1 seed is still up for grabs, but Boone County is still the team to beat come tournament time.
  8. Coach Sorrell played for CCH and is a 1975 graduate.
  9. Ludlow started off the game with Ashley Daugherty shooting (and making) two technical foul shots as a result of St. Henry not having all of their starters designated properly in the scorebook. St. Henry played catch up for the rest of the game. The first half was a full court game with both teams pressing and as a result the half time score was 40-36 in Ludlow's favor. The 2nd half was more of a half court game and hence the final score of 56-55. St. Henry was able to answer Ludlow's scoring bursts, but could never get the lead. St. Henry had a 15 foot baseline jumper with approximately 4 seconds to go, but it was off the mark. The game was poorly officiated from both teams perspective. Ashley Daugherty was definitely the difference maker for Ludlow. She was unstoppable down low. If St. Henry had shot a decent percentage on their foul shots, they could have won the game.
  10. Casey is indeed an outstanding player. Curious to know if the 1000 points are just from her days at NDA, or does the total include her varsity points at Villa?
  11. St. Henry has moved up their two best freshman (Abby Janszen & Taylor Gamm) to JV and Varsity. From what I hear, there is still a fair amount of talent on the freshman team, but it will take time for them to step into their new roles.
