I have to say that Walton has a little momentum going right now. They beat trimble by 6. I agree. At one time we were beating SK by like 8. Sk won by 12 due to the freethrows at end of the game. Then beat Carroll handily. So I think the boys have a little momentum on their side, meaning they have the mind set to play with any team.

I beleive Walton by 10. The way they have been playing as a team. Walton can control this game beginning to end.

I think the way walton is playing right now, they can play with any team. I look for them to go far if they can maintain their momentum.

I agree with everyone on this one. They played a really good team game. Everybody scored on the team. The team was led by Daugherty and Lynn with 16 points a piece. I am glad Somers has started penetrating to the hole and either scoring or kicking it out. This Run and Gun game they r playing is really more their style. Ponzer had the best overall game with 15 points about 4 boards and around 5 steals. His defensive game was awesome. Alot emotion from his shows great heart. Jones is starting to get warm from the arch so keep an eye on him. This is the best ball I've seen them play in a while. Keep it up guys.:dancingpa

I beleive Walton showed alot of heart this game. Coming from down 17 points in the first quater o take the lead by 7. With 8.1 seconds left and the last shot just could get the ball inside. Grant co outplayed the Bearcats in overtime. Best game Walton has played so far this year

Does anyone know the score from Wednesday night between Walton and Owen county? Thanks in advance!

I agree with the captain. You have to secure the ball and look for your teammates. Lets hope they can turn it around this friday vs Grant Co.

The game was close in the first half walton losing at half by 4. It was a very competetive game the in the first half. As for the second a completely different team and game. Owen co came out with a full court press and walton couldn't get the ball past half court. If they got the ball inbound, lazy passes and getting trapped in the corner forcing turnovers. It was the most hoorific game I have ever seen. At on time Walton's big 3 of Zwick, Daugherty, and Roberts were on the bench. For some reason we will never know. Walton guard play was terrible to say the least. As for Neely He pretty much beat WV by himself. I dont know how many points he had but he impressed me. I beleive he only had around 7 points at half. Walton better play a better game against Grant or they might lose.

Walton Verona was in Florida this week for the Father Lopez Holiday Tourney. They lost their first game on Thursday by 10 and then reeled off 2 big wins. One by 36 and another by 12. Franklin Daugherty was named to the all tourny team. Hopefully they can put this momentem to good use. They finished fifth in the tournament.:thumb:

The comment an walton being 1 and 5 is false. they r 4 and 3. The gc game was terrible 64 total fouls something like 35 to 40 was on walton. If you were there you know it was a poorly called game.

I agree with everyone. Daugherty seemed to be forcing things inside at Hurd trying to get him in foul trouble. Which that didn't happen. Roberts just couldn't get things going. He was open under the basket several times foir what could be an uncontested layup, but waltons horrible guard play didnt let that happen. Alot of turnovers for the guards of walton. I wish them luck in Florida next week. Hopefully they might be able to pull an upset or two.

I beleive Hester has the ability to shoot from the outside! I hope the walton keeps it close or at least makes it a game. Also, lets hope the officals call a good game I would hate to see another game like Walton vs Galittan. I think Sk by 10 - 15

correct and he played really well down there. I beleive the team went to alabama for nationals. I might be mistaken

I agree with you spilly but it will take the combination of Daugherty and Roberts to get Hurd into foul trouble.

Walton really played hard in the second half. Well Lauren Hargett did. 24 points in the second half and scoring her 1000 the point was awesome. Too bad a win couldn't top off the historical night

Roberts and Daugherty have played together for alot of years AAU included. They have also played with the likes of Hurd and Hester from SK. The game will be exciting. If Walton can get to Hurd early and get him in foul trouble it Walton might stand a chance.

Thanks nwo for the support. Yes Daugherty had a bad night, nothing would fall for him. Saturday against Williamstown he had 20 points and close to a dd I think. Roberts usually comes off the bench has does a great job but since being inserted into the starting lineup he has stepped up tremendously. I have heard several people state that if they had him,he would be a starter on their team.:thumb:

Its been a few days since the game so heres a recap! Monday night at Walton the Bearcats took on Trimble Co. Trimble Co coming in 1 and 6 and Walton in at 3 and 2, had me wandering what type of game walton would come with. Walton has a reputation of playing to their oppents ability. Walton came with the starting lineup that they used against Williamstown. With Josh Roberts playing his way into the starting lineup after the Boone County game the bearcats seem to be playing with a new purpose. The addition to Roberts starting at the 3 gives the Bearcats the strength they have needed inside. With Roberts, Daugherty, and Zwick at ur power postions this is change teams are not use to. As Roberts started the game hot scoring 7 straight and collecting rebounds the Bearcats were off and running. As usual the Bearcats let Trimble Co hang around and late in the half the cats were able to take a 3 point lead into half time. At the half Roberts was ur leading scorer with 13 points. Daugherty got into foul trouble early and could only muster 2 points as his shots just wasn't falling. Second half was a whole different story as Daugherty started catching fire, but foul trouble limited his play. Roberts continued his play but a few ticky tack fouls seen him to the bench as well. Payton Ponzer got a slap in the face which ignited a 10 point scoring effort. 7 in a row. Walton out scored Trimble 41-17 in the second half. Roberts was ur leading scorer with 19 points and 1 rebound shy of a dd with 9. Daugherty ended with 9 points. Walton takes on SK Thursday night at SK. :eek:
