Coach Strange lost his job after only one year at KC . Pineville 66 Knox Central 64 at KC, 51st district championship. Pineville is a tiny class A school. Doesn't coach Strange have a really young team to?

The freshman played 5 games, JV played 9 this year. That is NO freshman or JV program.

He has had several of his young players already quit the team or transfer this year and several are not going to return next year. He has no Freshmen or JV program and his coaching staff has no coaching experience.

I have heard several times that coach Elam at Knox Central is going to resign. Has anyone heard this to be true? Knox Central needs someone that can build a solid program. (Freshmen and JV) One game (Barbourville) does not make up for a loosing season. Bottom line is he didn't get the job done. Any thoughts?

What!! Is everbody forgetting about the fine job Coach Elam has done at Knox Central?? Well, he is playing 500 ball with the team he has.. My vote is for Elam.... NOT!!!:confused:

Last home game for KC.. lost last 2 that were winable games.. Next 3.. tough road games before district.. Any thoughts............

Seems as though Knox Centrals coaching staff has once again demonstrated their inability to coach and motivate their kids to win a ballgame against a much less talented Wayne Co. team that started 2 8th graders!!! Waynes team worked the ball inside on practically every possession in the second half which resulted in layups and open jumpers when kicked back out. KC passes the ball around the perimeter on practically every possession looking for the 3No rebounding! No inside play.. No fault of the players.. Its the style of play, Look outside first. Look outside second.... And yes they have the size and athletic ability to play with anybody on the inside in the 13th.

Any thoughts on this game?

Barbourville outplays Knox Central in the First half and lead by nine. KC comes out in the second half and immediately makes a run by going inside and getting a couple buckets in the paint, playing aggressive defense, rebounding, then Elam makes some adjustments.... Pull out the big men and insert 2 more guards so they can work the ball around the perimeter looking for the 3.. play a zone and allow B-ville to work 45 seconds off the clock on each possession "If you're going to shoot the 3 you need as many touches as possible" then allow the 5'-10" Smith kid from Barbourville to post up and torch them on the inside because they have no post defense.. BRILLIANT STRATEGY THERE

This one came down to coaching.

Final-- Knox Central 70 -- Pineville 59 The Bingham kid along with freshmen Bargo did a fantastic job of defending Day in this game who was probably held to 12 to 15 points. Miller 28 pts. Overall very good performance by Knox Central..

Apparently he stole the ball and was driving in for a layup got fouled and come down on his shoulder dislocating it... This was in KC's first game against Barren Co.

Heard that the Williamson kid dislocated his shouler in the Hazard tournament and could be out a few weeks?? If so that would probably move the Bingham kid into the middle.." where he should have been from the beginning with the Williamson kid playing the power forward slot." The Bingham kid is a much improved rebounder from last year and and excellent defender.. something they desparately need...

The game will be played at Knox Central.. Miller is an excellent young player, But I stress "Young" He should not have to try to carry this team. They have other talented players that need to be utilized in the offense..

May have a point there Bubba... Knox Central likes to shoot the 3 but they definitely have the size to go inside and draw some fouls ????
