  1. Trinity comes out flat but eventually takes over. Sewell with about 17 Smith played well for Scott
  2. Highlands up 5 at end of third- It's getting a bit ugly with several intentional fouls Earlier T on head coach, one on assistant for standing up after first T PCC several looks at threes to close gap but they can't them knock down
  3. Highlands 31-25 six to go in 3rd Refs taking over the game giving two technicals on PCC bench in this quarter
  4. Boone 81-29 over Hopkins Clinton Co and Prestonburg both lost but I don't know scores
  5. Highlands 22-21 one minute to go in 2nd. Neither team playing very well now!
  6. If GRC is focused and not looking past them to the Male game, I think they can take care of business.
  7. They really try to get the three in transition since they are lacking the impact players to succeed in the half-court set. Their coach puts them in the best sitation to win as indicated by the fact that they took Seneca to OT and they hung with Ballard and Eastern most of the game.
  8. I'm not as excited about X's chances since I saw Boone Co beat Hopkins Central 81-29 this AM with subs playing a lot and X only won by 25!
  9. GRC by 8. StX will play tough but they just can't match the size. If they can hit their threes, they could pull the upset.
  10. I think that Scott will face a team, barring letdown after the KOB, that plays this same way.
  11. Don't know exact score but StX won by more than 20. They were in control the whole way. X has an excellent coach and will pressure Clark's guards but doesn't have a lot of size.
  12. Looks like it's back to the drawing board for Boone. You have to have an organized press breaker to compete with the likes of Seneca.
  13. Seneca's pressure destroys Boone causing about 15 turnovers in 3rd quarter.
  14. Seneca up 49-38 with about 3 minutes to go in 3rd
  15. Saw them play both Trinity and Eastern in the KOB. GRC will be in the mix at the end!
  16. Nope! Just pointing out that with the quality iin Lou/Lex I bet you would see multiple champions in a class ssytem come from these areas every year. I personally love the fact they still have the Sweet Sixteen!
  17. The road to the championship is a lot tougher coming out of the 7th or 11th! GRC will meet minimal resistance in the 10th from Mason and Scott but I would expect them to get there to Rupp. If they were in the 7th, they would be one of three or four teams in the mix because the 7th region teams will have to battle for three rounds to get out. I would bet if the tourney allowed two teams from each region you would see a lot more 7th,11th region teams winning it all- but they don't!
  18. Let's see- Ballard deserves to be ranked #1 after what they have shown Eastern- one in state loss and a win over Clark= top 5 Trinity should be in the top 5 with their KOB crown Jtown undefeated so they have to be top 10 Seneca with only one loss= top 15 at least! Male, Moore- improving- possible top 20 One heck of a region!
  19. Trinity's defense controls the game and the Seneca press is not effective enough as Trinity took care of the ball! Sewell led the way, Epley came up huge, and Corbett ran the show just like Trinity needs! On to Lexington and we'll see what happens in the 5th/3rd I got my Xmas gift tonight!!! :ylsuper:
  20. Unfortunately, that will be the only true competition he will face for a while. I think his coach has not scheduled well enough for him to win Mr. Basketball since many outside of his region will continue to question how he would fare against tough teams night in and out. Sewell has been producing against the likes of Ballard, McEachen GA, and Clark Co. while the other big names(Rico,Pittman, Guyn, Jackson, Euton) have been having good games but not outstanding. I agree that it is still early but I don't think you can fault Sewell if he continues to produce like this and Trinity doesn't get out of the district. My guess would be that Trinity, Ballard, and Seneca may be ranked in the top 10 next week.
