I think Ryle's speed will cause trouble for NCC. I watched the NCC game last week and was shocked by how slow NCC really is. Ryle will wear down NCC and pull away in the 4th.

I would say more of the Breds being worn down, but Brossart did coach very well.

Two things that I take away from this game: 1) Pat Van Sant is a freak. He's nasty. 2) Michael Robinson's catch is the best catch I have ever seen. Especially since it came when it did. Absolute clutch performance. Also, good job by the CovCath coaching staff in making adjustments throughout the game.

The one thing I don't get from that article is that if the 3 lineman being talked about are that good, then they should have dominated. That was far from the case in that the offense only 78 yards of total offense

I look for Deters to pound it at NCC. I expect him to have a big game. The NCC defense then will have to play more people in the box and as a result Van Sant will have a big time game torching the NCC secondary CovCath-27 NCC-21

Yes I am dead serious, and I will. If you think I don't what is going on over at CovCath then you are dead wrong. Its a big change when in the previous years,before the current staff, the players would get a scouting report the day after the previous game. It shows the players that the coaching staff is prepared and actually cares about winning football games. Also, it helps that the coaches actually going over it with the players and studying it with them also. Instead of just giving it to them and telling them to look at it.

I think its very fair because it is not like CovCath is a mediocre football program. A CovCath team should not be getting beat this badly. I agree that two losses have been to great teams, but those games should have been more respectable than they were. I think thats the reason why the fan base is mad. There is no shame in losing to Highlands and Mooney, but it is very embarrasing by how much they lost by.

Its kinda hard to study them and take them seriously when the players would get them a day or two before the game. What does that tell the players?

Here is an idea. Line up in Power I and smash it down teams throats. Put Van Sant at tailback and let him go to work. CovCath's best asset is their big and physical line and Van Sant. I'm pretty sure that would put up more points than what they are now.

Players take on the personality of their coach. Coaches need to posses the qualities they are trying to incorporate.

Yea you would think a team made up of Highlands,Covcath,Dixie,and NewCath would win. I guess the team didn't buy into his sytem.

Coach Rodenberg also never lost to NewCath and never got beat by 60 points. Brossart needs to realize a simple fact about football: You got to actually score points to win a game. The type of offense he tries to run is totally ridiculous. I feel like I am watching a peewee offense.

You are exactly right. There are no audibles in this system. Rodenberg gave freedom to his players and it worked really well. A perfect example is the last second touchdown against Highlands in 06'. Bleser checked off the slant and through the fade.

BTW the main difference between Rodenberg and Brossart is the preperation aspect. Coach Rodenberg always had the team mentally prepared and he had a gameplan that could suceed. I think Brossart would be a good assistant coach, but he is not a head coach. It shows by the way of the team's performance since he took over. I know these seniors and I know they can suceed. Its just a matter of the coaching staff preparing them correctly.

Brossart plays too much with the players' heads. His philosophy is way off base and he doesn't give you a straight answer on some of the things he does. He needs to get his act together because a lot of the Colonel faithful are getting tired of his teams not producing like they should.

I completely agree with you. As an alum I am absolutely embarrassed about this outcome. It makes you wonder about where the program is heading toward when the last two games that CovCath has played in they been outscored 97-0. The sad thing about this whole situation is that CovCath has the players. There is no lack of talent walking through those halls. Since Brossart has been coach it seems like the players lack intensity,confidence,passion and most importantley seem way unprepared for games. I hope the players look themselves in the mirror and realize what it means to be a COLONEL.

I agree. The way to beat Highlands is run the ball especially with a lead blocker, but the offense that CovCath runs will not beat Highlands. Jet sweeps and fullback gives against Highlands does not work. All you have to do is check out the playoff game from last year. Highlands is just to quick and fast.

This team will be bigger, but it is hard for me to see that they will be faster. They lose a lot of speed from Buckley,Furnish,Schnieder,Fagel, and Tibbs. I don't see a homerun threat on Offense other than Michael Robinson and Pat Van Sant, who will be playing a lot of defense. Hopefully some sophomores will step up and make a big impact on the offense side of the ball.
