If you've ever had to address a group of exhausted beatup heartbroken kids who just left their heart and soul on the field, then you probably feel as I do. This thread spun way out of control about what should have been private sentiments in a post game huddle between a coach and his players.

1. Ditto for Mercer 2. Will punch the time clock Friday, and get on a bus to take care of business. 3. Grew depth with entire JV and Freshmen squad playing a quarter or more in 10 of 14 games this year. 4. Are still improving after 14 games. Every game is showing a more balanced and well rounded team. They are peaking at EXACTLY the right time. 5. Ditto for Mercer. 8 two way starters last year......NONE full time this year. 6. Uh yeah...we have a few athletes ourself. As far as being there for the entire game.....Mercer figures we might as well since we had to pay for the bus and all....and they're giving us 4 hours, might as well use them all. So yes...you are correct THIS WILL BE A GOOD ONE.

Russell holding Belfry to 33 yards?? rushing. I still can't believe I read that. OCath was outmanned with or without their starting QB, however, they were a touch out of sync without him.

Nothing wrong with braggin......"it ain't cocky if you say it and you BACK IT UP!!" Russell is much more than hype.

Give respect and then get some. I think Mercer is tired of having their threads hijacked with ...other stuff. The big difference you will see is no one from Mercer taking over a Belfry-Russell game thread. But look at Mercer threads and you will see more than one of the Russell faithful popping off about Mercer. Trust me, Russell has the respect of Mercer and the State. Those of us that were EVEN AT THE GAME last year...remember the whippin. So relax, everyone still thinks you guys are a great team......

Then move along...... 1. YOU ARE CLUELESS about the merge of 200 Hburg students into the Mercer school system. 2. The field house was being used 2 years ago. 3. The Mercer Co. community doesn't care what Jeepman thinks about it. Best thing for you to do is back out of something you don't know about.

All classes are integrated, all sports teams are integrated. Until the new school is funded and built, both high school campuses are used by ALL students this year. In other words, Harrodsburg decided to close shop, the 200 students they had were absorbed by Mercer Co. and we are using both buildings until the new campus is completed. It's almost like a real above the board merge.:sssh: Keep this under your hat though....the simple plain truth will destroy some folks.

It's all good Jeepman. Not sensitive at all, just disappointed. Mercer has heard it all year long. I just happen to think that the vast majority of Russell fans would not stoop to prepackaged excuses for losing to Mercer (5A school, merger, blah blah). We should be talking about the game...period. Because this one's a tossup, and could go down as a title game classic.

Sorry.....the superintendents from both systems didn't consult with you first. Bottom line: you aren't here to see the positive impact this merge is having on all students....athlete or not. The level of interaction has been good for the future of this community and every kid involved. You aren't qualified to pass a judgement on the long overdue merge unless you are from here. This merge is bigger than athletics, and our community is and will be better for it. Unless you are experiencing it first hand, your posts lack validity and perspective and would best be kept to yourself. And that my friend is not debatable.

The class of 2A trying to hold off the up and comer. I think we have the horses to compete with you all this year......but we'll have to play our best game of the year. To me there is no underdog going into this one. I give it even odds...
