  1. NDA is the much better team. I say if SHDHS wins, its an upset.
  2. NCC is definitely a #1 or 2 team, not #3. The Fall Classic was interesting. It was the first time I witnessed a referee team totally control the outcome of a game. St Henry is good but NCC better all round the court.
  3. Where is Villa in this mix? Does Silver Grove have Volleyball?
  4. Who is in the District with Ludlow? What are the standings?
  5. CCH Frosh whipped up on Newport yesterday not sure how much of a test Newport was
  6. Not every sports fan enjoys all sports....this should be about the girls that want to play socceer and stay at Beechwood to do so....we should be happy for those kids that get the opportunity to play a sport they love and stay at a school they also enjoy. Forget all the other 'adult' emotions and politics!
  7. They don't have to 'add' teams unless there are enough girls/boys to 'field' a team. If there is interest they submit that in writing, then get committments from students to be on the team. That is the only way that any school would have to offer a sport that isn't currently offered at their school.
  8. The coaches do call info in, however, the advantage with the Post was that Terry knew the players and the coaches. He was always involved, looking for human interest stories and he actually understood the game. He knew which games were the ones to cover etc. There was something in the paper a couple times a week as far as articles. He had knowledge of his job and did the research himself. That's the difference.
  9. Without Terry B covering sports... I think this is just what it will be all season. Everyone needs to either email and/or call Ryan Ernst at the Enquirer and demand better HS coverage for all the kids!
  10. What 'preview'! I actually missed seeing it twice.....then saw online. They might as well have filled it in with something else. They obviously did not do their 'homework'.
  11. The NCC and Notre Dame scrimmage was great! I would say NCC took it though. They have quite a team.
  12. The NCC team looks like they are having fun being on the team together, great chemistry! And of course a group of good athletes...their libero has sure made a great recovery from surgery. She was really moving around at Bluegrass and her serving was there too. You can really talk about alot of the team...that's a group with talent!
  13. The JV division-Ryle won and the Varisty Champions are Newport Central Catholic (won in finals against Butler-Louisville)
  14. Scrimmage is on the NCC schedule for Aug 6th....'away', so I guess that means at Notre Dame assuming its not hot....then possibly at St Pius like it has been.....really these scrimmages haven't really been as competitive as you would think,NCC won against Notre Dame at the LIVT last year and it was a totally different game than you saw at the scrimmage....don't want to give away your game strategies ahead of the season....
  15. Beechwood already has a new Volleyball Coach...it was announced right after Matt's resignation.
  16. NCC....has been building for the past three years. They will be quite a team...different than the past few years though with the addition of new talent as well as their Libero Michelle Woods returning after surgery and playing some great volleyball! That group of girls work hard, have fun and are very competitive. It should be a fun Volleyball Season!:dancingpa
  17. Not in Eastern Ky...but N Ky....New Cath for sure.....
  18. I'm picking my Colonels in this one, but CCH will have to be sharp and not look past the Breds, after prevailing in a thriller against Dixie
  19. Congrats to Johnny for signing with TMC. He has a good shot of stepping in as their starting catcher next year! TMC is getting alot of local talent to come to their baseball program.... Opinions?
  20. Isn't there one player from each team selected to the All A Tournament Team?
  21. Harrison County 7 NCC 3 It was a 3-2 game heading into the third inning when pitcher Michael Enzweiler got hit with a ball in the arm while pitching. His reliefer Brian Heinrichs gave up a grand slam and it was 7 to 2. Pabst hit a solo Homerun in the fifth inning to give the thoroughbreds the final run.
  22. Final. Congrats to Newcath! First time going down to Applebee's Field. :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
