12th Region Draw
Lincoln will need to watch out. They aren't playing their best basketball, with a blowout loss at home to Southwestern and close wins over Danville. I hope the officiating is very consistent on both ends of the court.

12th Region Draw
I think McCreary is playing the best. They are playing very, very well. I think Danville can beat West Jessamine, and I think they will. All other favorite should advance. McCreary vs. Lincoln will be the best show of the tournament. This is the game that we've been waiting for for two years.

12th Region Tournament
McCreary has the toughest draw for all teams involved. However, I believe that they are also playing the best. Wayne over Rockcastle Danville over West Jessamine McCreary over East Jessamine Lincoln over Casey Wayne over Danville McCreary over Lincoln 48th District Rematch: Wayne vs. McCreary Raiders make first return since '83.

McCreary jumped out to a 14-0 lead, and led 15-5 at the end of the fourth. At the start of the second, the calls got a little more in the Cards favor and they cut it to seven. Jones called a time out, and McCreary ended the half on a run to lead 30-15 at the break. To start the fourth quarter, McCreary jumped out to a 19 point lead. Wayne cut it to 13 twice, before McCreary extended it to 18 with :59 remaining. That's when Jones substituted all his players, while Woods left his boys out. After failing to inbound a few passes, Wayne racked up seven points in the final minute to cut the lead to seven. Jones and the Raiders zoned the Cards all night, and at one time, looked to use a box-and-one on Dunigan. The Cards never converted and missed plenty of their threes. Dixon for the Raiders shot the three ball very well, as did Watts. Wright controlled Wayne's guards and was the superior point on the floor. The Raiders also corralled several offensive rebounds and Wayne just never could seem to get into any kind of movement. They shot a lot of airballs, and Dunigan was reliant on the three and never played in the paint. Jones is a happy man, that's for sure. McCreary has a very, very good crowd. They travel very well. Monticello was like McCreary Central West for their two games and the fans really enjoyed themselves.

McCreary led by 18 with a minute to go. The Cards scored seven quick to make score look better than the game was. More to come.

I am going to have to go reversi on that. I think Thacker did well to start seasons, and during many seasons, but when the tournament rolled around, his teams seemed to never get over the hump. Usually, they were very, very talented.

12th Region Tournament
I think Southwestern and McCreary are both playing well, even though the Warriors won't make it. I also think Danville will put up a fight in the tournament. Ideally, for McCreary, this would be the perfect bracket: McCreary vs. East Rockcastle vs. Danville Lincoln vs. Wayne West vs. Casey

Lincoln isn't playing as well as they were earlier, in my opinion. Good win, however, for the Patriots. Danville will be a killer for some team in the tourney.

Wayne County vs. McCreary Central Predictions 48th
I don't know when the last time you saw McCreary play was. Earlier in the year, and even in the past month or so, the unity wasn't there. But now they have come together.

Wayne County vs. McCreary Central Predictions 48th
McCreary swept Wayne last year by double digits. Wayne currently just holds the two game winning streak that they claimed this season. Which means nothing. Wayne isn't playing as well as earlier with losses at home to Boyle and a few other teams.

And Rockcastle County.

Wayne County vs. McCreary Central Predictions 48th
Yes, the Cards blew McCreary out twice that season. Then McCreary dominated the district match up until the fourth quarter and Wayne came back to win in overtime.

Wayne County vs. McCreary Central Predictions 48th
It all comes down to this. McCreary returns to their first title game since 2006 in which they lost to Southwestern. After an easy win over Monticello, Wayne has two full days of rest to prepare for this match up Saturday night. McCreary, coming off a grueling and tough win against Southwestern last night, prepares to take on a Cardinal team that beat them twice this season by seven combined points. Is the momentum with the Raiders with the come from behind victory? Remember for Wayne, it's hard to beat a team three times. Just ask the 07/08 McCreary squad. I think McCreary makes their mark and shows they are a team to be reckoned with. Raiders 62-55

McCreary Central 54 Southwestern 51
This was the hump that the Raiders needed to get over. In the second half, Southwestern's zone kept Roark scoreless, who had 15 in the first half. He is a strong kid. The Raiders will be very, very tough come district time. Last night, they only played 6 players and that's because Wright was in foul trouble. Jones said on the radio last night that he expects them to play 7 or 8 against Wayne because they do pressure.

McCreary Central 54 Southwestern 51
McCreary's fans traveled very, very well. Doors were scheduled to open at 6, and with a crowd of Raider fans packed at the entrance, the doors were opened at 5:40. Quickly, McCreary filled their side with fans, eventually spilling over in the end zones of the court before Southwestern filled half of theirs. The McCreary players played with heart to start, and end the game. After McCreary stole the inbounds pass that basically sealed the deal, the Raiders motioned for the crowd to their feet and all fed off of each other and were very, very happy.

McCreary Central 54 Southwestern 51
McCreary led by as many as ten in the first half, and by nine at the break. Southwestern stormed back to tie it at the end of three. McCreary started to collapse in the fourth and fell behind by as many as six, before making a rally in the final 1:28 and with a Dixon three, took a 50-49 lead. Southwestern responded to 51-50, before McCreary took the lead back at 52-51 with a pair of Watts free throws. McCreary intercepted the inbounds pass and Watts was fouled with :13 ticks left on the clock. The junior nailed them both and McCreary hung on after a Southwestern three banged off the rim. Roark was fouled with :01 left on the clock and missed the front end, but on the rebound, Woolridge for Southwestern threw up a heave from McCreary's free-throw line after the buzzer, ending the game.

You obviously don't get the point. McCreary was a reference to a SUBJECT/TOPIC. McCreary wasn't the SUBJECT/TOPIC. That is the English for you. I was using their loss to Southwestern as a reference. I could have used any team in that spot, but McCreary was the most relevant because it was the 12th region. McCreary rhetoric? I think not. Let me make this clear and simple: Just because you beat a team twice (like Lincoln vs. Danville this year; McCreary vs. Southwestern last year) and just because you have the best record vs. the 12th region (Lincoln this year; McCreary last year) DOES NOT allow for the assumption that they'll beat Danville. True, Lincoln MAY win, but it won't be because of their previous two wins versus Danville. I rest. No more posts from me to you in this thread.

ebayer, What does this mean? Danville could win, but Lincoln beat them twice this season, and had the best record within th 12th. Is that referencing to the fact that Lincoln beat them twice, therefore are likely to beat them against since they did have the best 12th region record? The defense rests. :sssh:

Have you had English? I inserted them as a reference as to when teams beat other teams multiple times, and then lose. The topic was the fact that you can't base previous scores on upcoming scores. So... :sssh: And since this isn't getting through to the Patriot faithful, I will concede. :isurrender:

Lincoln County 59 Boyle County 49 (OT)
This isn't a thread about Lincoln/McCreary. The point is, and the point I made before McCreary was inserted as a TOPIC, was that you can't base beating Danville twice and assuming they'll beat them again. It just doesn't happen. Lincoln beat Boyle twice this season by an average of 20 points per game. And then the Rebs take them into overtime? Just because you beat Danville twice doesn't assure you another win. That's the point.

Lincoln County 59 Boyle County 49 (OT)
I can compare whomever I feel like comparing. True, it doesn't matter who wins this game. They're both in the region tournament. But the point being, if Lincoln County doesn't come to play, Danville will be taking the title back home with them.

Lincoln County 59 Boyle County 49 (OT)
That means nothing whatsoever. McCreary destroyed Southwestern twice last year, blew out nearly every 12th region opponent and you see what happened to them. Just because they beat Danville twice (and Danville did beat them once) doesn't mean that they can't lose to them. Didn't Lincoln beat Boyle twice, but escaped in OT? I think so. If Lincoln doesn't play with heart against Danville, the Ads will win it.

Should be a dandy tonight.

Danville could win this district. Lincoln County got very, very lucky.
