  1. Hey, the NC players were watching closed-circuit telecasts of Belfry's practice. Sounds like a good idea to me.
  2. Agreed! The kids just need to play with a :fight: attitude.
  3. Adam Schmitz of Ryle at LB and occasional reps in the offensive backfield.
  4. Best wishes to Corey Farris for a speedy recovery. CovCath will be a tough game for Boone even with Corey in the mix. And, I agree with OldGuy on his comments.
  5. Ryle must prove ourselves on the field but the Raiders will be a better team than last year IMO. Glen Este is tough but not as great as last year when they had so many 3-year starters. I'm not guaranteeing a Ryle win but I will guarantee people great effort and a close ball game and would be absolutely shocked if this is not a close ball game. I think Dixie folk feel the same way about their contest with Highlands.
  6. I do see how you come to that conclusion based on our play vs. CovCath without Vince Murray plus being forced to switch to a new QB who had very few reps with 1st team. We're adjusting to the injuries and will prove you wrong on the field vs. Glen Este. Count on it.
  7. Is this not a forum for stating "oppions"? Does my opinion need to agree with yours to be valid?
  8. I think it's very possible that Dixie only scores 7 but I don't see 63 against a decent Dixie defense. I'll let the Dixie fans laugh at the prediction, not me.
  9. Vince Murray of Ryle is the best blocking fullback in NKY and that makes an excellent back like Scott Gray all the more effective.
  10. I actually think that it could be an interesting dogfight this year with Boone, Campbell, Dixie, Ryle and Simon fighting it out for 4 spots. I don't see Conner, Holmes and Scott fighting it out to get into the mix. It does seem like our NKY 4A schools don't typically get off to quick starts but I'm certainly not ready to say that NKY 4A as a whole is embarassing. Every team (other than I'm not convinced about Scott due to the loss of Haught to SK) this year will be better than last year's versions.
  11. I read it again and your words have not changed, SC won the scrimmage between the varsity teams. Thanks for the bold print in your note. PS - You are the only person I know of who thinks that JV action counts in who wins a varsity scrimmage.
  12. Actually, I was going by your words, SC won the scrimmage between the varsity teams 16 to 15. Please give accurate information in YOUR posts.
  13. I was just going by what I read. Like the man just said, Relax. Don't worry.
  14. I agree. Ryle will have to hit some passes to win the game. It will be a very physical ball game and probably not high scoring.
  15. We will see although we won't be at full strength vs. Glen Este unfortunately. It will be a very good game this year to many people's surprise. Ryle is better and Glen Este is not as strong as last year.
  16. It's way too early to ask that question. Even very good teams can lose in a scrimmage to a lesser team. Do you have to look any further than Trinity losing to Scott Co. yesterday?
  17. Highlands is the best team in NKY at this time. They would beat anyone up here right now.
  18. I just think that it's kind of funny when last year some were saying that GE was a very good football team yet most on here talked like CovCath and Highlands were better than GE, a tier 3 team from Cincy. This year's GE team is very tough but not nearly as good as last year's team IMO from what I saw today. GE will be a very tough opening opponent for Ryle, which is good for us. You get better by playing a tough non-district schedule. Injuries are no excuse for us or any other team.
  19. I think that 5 teams will fight for the 4 spots in 4A.
  20. Injuries do make a difference, don't they? Glen Este is a tough bunch.
  21. And the winner of this year's Super Bowl is......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................???????????????
  22. The final score was 29-7. For the night, it looked like the Raiders stuck to a very simple pound the ball game plan and kicked 3 impressive field goals of 42,45 and 47 yards. We also missed a 43 yarder that had 15 yards to spare just wide left. Both teams were missing key players and I'm sure will be so glad to get back their injured starters. The Royals scored in the 4th quarter with their first team against our second team. One receiver for Mason made two athletic catches on "jump ball" throws and a strong little back had two good runs (one he almost broke for a TD) when both teams' starting units matched up. Scott Gray was impressive with a long TD on both sides of the ball. Good luck to Mason this year and I'm sure that their coach will mold them into a good team. The Raiders are ahead of where they were last year at this time in spite of temporarily losing a darn good QB, MLB/FB, CB and OG. That bodes well for this team as they have adapted to life without 5 starter positions (QB, FB, LB, OG, CB).
