  2. Always a good game between these two teams, Congrats Lex. Cath.
  3. Powell, Lee and Cordia have more than an outside shot.
  4. powell will be strong this year, they have gone through alot and have really kind have come together, id say they will start off ruff like they always do, but by tourny time i am sure they will be in it for all of it
  5. Powell's team will be good. They have been working real hard, and are about to get a little time off, which will be the most they have gotten in the past 4 years. But i think it will do them good. You see them all out in town alot hanging out, so the bond between them is strong, and as for the underclass men powell has always had 15 on varsity with only one or two players playing down into jv. and always have a full freshman team, so the jv team is a good balance.
  6. Powell can in this situation. With a small upcoming junior class of only 2 people, Powell can afford to keep all of their seniors. Which leaves room for 2 underclassman on the bench. When those twelve seniors are gone you will have a few experienced players to lead the team. Then the other players can step up on varsity and gain the needed experience.
  7. Yes, experience is experience no matter what level you play on, varsity or jv. Most of the underclassman play jv for powell. They should be ready to step up when the time comes.
  8. I agree, 12 seniors can be a really good thing and a really bad thing. Many of the underclassman are active players for Powell. Losing twelve seniors will hurt them but with the new coach and determination from the players they should be ok.
  9. Chase Friel, he is Craig Friel's little brother. He plays alot like his brother. He don't score much, but he plays some pretty good D, and he plays hard, and ruff. He likes to make little things happen, like causing bad passes. Or just nagging a guy by just staying with him. Coach Baker thought enough of him to put him in the ending of the district game, after three mins he had a three, and one or two rebounds. He out scored two starters in his three mins in. But he just never seemed to get any respect from Coldiron.
  10. Powell County will be coming up either next week I think, it should be cool to see how the teams match early on.
  11. Powell is going to be a good team this year. with 9 seniors, and 2 juniors they have got to the point were they now know what they gotta do. All of them had problems with the coach and with some other players ( who have come and gone) but now its just them. John Skidmore, with prove the true guard he is. His speed and skill in keeping the team together and tight as one, will really help the team. Romans will keep his game of being strong down in the paint and the one that everyone needs to look out for being a 6th man, or even a starter, would have to be Chase Friel. He is strong and always plays himself as the little guy. he plays as hard as he can all the time and manages to make alot happen in the game. Some of the players like the new coach but most of them would agree that they are happy Coldiron is gone. But I think the main let down was that coach Baker wasn't made the new coach. most of the players like him, and think of him as a coach and a friend. He is a good coach, and the ad a pc messed up big time, but no offense to the new coach.
