  1. Covington Catholic is real. Holmes won't go out so easy though. I'll take Holmes in a tight one.
  2. At the rate the region has gone so far, with JBS beating a solid Powell team by 12 and a good Breathitt club by 21, I'll have to take JBS by about 15. The region was up for grabs from the start, with about 6 legit teams that could've won. Now that it's down to these two and they have split, I think JBS has the upper hand because they've been so hot as of late.
  3. They very well may be. The 14th really needs to be looked at by KHSAA, though. I can't pinpoint what it is, but things in the 14th have never been the best.
  4. The Crusaders did mismatch the Bobcats but i hate to see teams that actually deserve the trophy get taken down.
  5. Nope no sour grapes here. I have absolutely nothing against any team in the 14th and don't care who goes to Rupp. I'd just really like to see the best TEAM make it there on their own. "Let the KIDS play".
  6. If you have attended the last two games you would see that the 12th region officials are not calling like they have all year in the 12th. (you would've had to watch a few games played in the 12th). I've heard from good sources also that there are certain people in Pippa Passas whom have pull with the referees that are selected for the 14th tourney. I'm not going to come out and say that JBS is being helped out, but there definately something going on.
  7. Great showing for Cumberland. Should be an interesting final against Corbin at Corbin.
  8. SL by 6. Should be a great game, may try to see this one.
  9. From what I've heard JBS may not deserve the trip to Rupp in other aspects, assuming that they win.
  10. This Thread should be closed. The final Score has been posted. Bb1
  11. Wow!, didnt see this coming. 21 points. Definately not what i had predicted. It seems that JBS is playing as a team at the right time. I guess I'll take JBS as the Winner of the 14th, IMO too much for Hazard and Hicks. Cox , Collins and Stepp have really turned it up in Regional Play, I'm guessing the district loss to KCC has given JBS a bit of a determination factor.
  12. UK really needs to realize that they have a good ball club, they just don't utilize their best players at the right times. Alot of this has to do with coaching, not taking anything away from Tubby, but in 98' the ship was handed to him by Pitino, and every year since then UK basketball has seemed to decline. Pitino just resently stated that "UK's program would set back 10 years without Tubby Smith". I don't see this as a very good statement. It seems that the 10 years that Tubby has been here that UK's "program" has declined by the year. Alot of great coaching decisions by Tubby, but hardly any here lately.
  13. Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, & Kansas. Texas A&M beats Texas, Kansas beats Florida. Kansas beats Texas A&M in a close game. Kansas - 2007 NCAA Champs!
  14. Estill county returns all most everyone, if not everyone from their previous season. Last years Regional Champs, Powell co. look to repeat in the district, Lee and Owsley might have a down year.
  15. I don't like the new trophies. They just arent the same as the old Kentucky shaped ones, I love those!
  16. Final. Thoughts? Good luck to Hazard in the finals.
  17. For many seniors around kentucky and everywhere around the world, there always comes a time when you must lose or win your final game. For some young men when they step on the court for the first game of their senior season, they know that they proabably don't have a chance of making it to Rupp, but still love to play the game. Some players start their season with a very positive attitude and realize that they in fact do have a chance at going to the big dance. For all you seniors out there, you know what i mean. Basketball in Kentucky is very competitive and highly praised. For some it's life. Basketball helps some into college, with scholarship opportunities and for those great players, a career in the NBA. Not many people make it to the NBA and everyone must realize this, as hard as it may be. So for all those seniors that did lose their final game, go on with life and don't harp over the loss, there is much more to life than basketball. For those fortunate enough to win the regional title or even state, where ever you may be from, take that win and keep it with you for as long as you may. Basketball is truly the best sport, especially in Kentucky!
  18. It seems that way. You should never do this, it always comes back to bite you. Go GRC, great Win!!
  19. At his age Miller is better, but Knowles showed today that he was the better of the two.
  20. Who ever comes out of this bottom bracket wins the 14th. I'll take JBS by 10. Collins showed in the game against Powell that he owns the paint. Breathitt also lives and dies by the three which could really hurt them if they arent hitting. I don't see no more that 15 or 16 pts. being scored from inside with Collins in there. He's in a league of his own in the 14th at 6'8''. After seeing JBS beat a very solid Powell co. team by 12 i have to say that they are the favorite in the 14th, If JBS beats Breathitt they will beat, the probabe winner of the top bracket, Hazard... by 10+. Powell beat Hazard by 10, and JBS beat Powell by 12. Given that it's tourney time, I will say JBS by 14 against Hazard.
  21. I have to agree, surely he is the MVP of the 10th Region tourney! Has to be a high D-1 prospect after this game, he really showed that he plays in big games and he had an easy 30 point game. Darius Miller on the other hand played huge and he's only a Junior. Miller is definately a D-1 prospect as well. Knowles though, has to be the better of the two.
  22. Wow, what a game, hats off to GRC for the big win. Knowles truly showed how good of a player he is in this one. Miller threw in 30+, but Knowles matched him with his own 30+ game. Great game all-around, listened to this one on the radio and it sounded like a great game to have attended. Glad to see GRC go to Rupp, the boys at Clark co. really deserved this. Knowles is definately D-1 material.
