  1. ditto! Guess I just joined at a time when I had a lot to say. That's how it usually goes though I guess. Took Damron leave'n to get me fired up. Just hated see'n the good head out not know'n what was come'n in. and just hadda get it out of my system!
  2. And I personally don't have a player that's been cheated out of anything, just an avid fan that hates to see other's mistreated though. So RedBlood if it's wrong to speak out where others won't guess BGP isn't what I thought it was. And now you see another reason why there aren't many BC fans on here. They speak the truth and get shot down.
  3. Nice to hear someone else knows the facts there BleedRed. As for getting on here and cutting down coaches, well I'm just getting on here being honest. Something most of BC parents are afraid to do. And I thought BGP was here to voice opinions. I've set by reading on here and watching at games and I'm tired of hearing parents complain in private and not getting out there and saying what they really feel in public. BC baseball program has built up such a big hype that all the parents who have a kid on the team are scared to death to do anything that might cause their kid to not get chosen next season. Kids do change fast, I just think there was a better way of dealing with kids. Boyd doesn't pick Varsity or JV by age, if they got a Sr. they get mad at they'll glady sit him on the bench and let a 7th grader start in the game just to rub in the faces. That's the kind of stuff that needs stopped, they're there to coach kids not brow beat them.
  4. I don't know Lee Evans that well as a person, but if this is true then I wish him luck with it if he's not planning on moving on sometime soon. Whoever they get I hope it's someone that looks at the talent kids have and not the billfold on the parents.
  5. Is good to see some responses on here! And I definately agree politics is bad at BC and they do need a group to do the deciding not just one person. Only thing worries me about Evans or McPeek for that matter is when Dane gets his team going will he take them with him to that level? I just think when they do hire they need to interview and make sure they have someone willing to stay and rebuild the program, starting with the JFL. I really think Vince is why it's dropping off so bad. People just dont want to invest as much money as it takes in sports just to get to middle school and be up the creek without that proverbial paddle. Notice still noone seems to know Vince's win record or wants to post it. That too should say something. And as far as BC people I think most are afraid they'll be found out when the post something and dont want the fallback on the their kid.
  6. Oh I just don't sit behind a computer and dog coaches, I do it face to face also. Thing is how many BC people do you even see voice'n their opinion? Very few will do it honestly cause of how it's all run in the county. And I didn't say i was qualified to be a head coach, just that they need to get some that are qualified.
  7. I sure wish someone would post Vince's stats for past couple years there.
  8. Sounds like ashlands definately doing some workouts!
  9. nah wasn't attitude problems, just final evaluations for the kids.
  10. after a loss, but they've had a lot of those this year, that's why I dont see cut'n your best hitter. I could see telling them work harder for next season's tryouts but to say, don't bother try'n out next year. And they cut several that day of the older kids, these weren't the 7th graders on the team it was the jrs.
  11. Well if it's the kid they said he has one of the top hitting averages for the JV this year. That's why I was so shocked to hear it.
  12. Anyone hear any details on this one? I had a parent tell me that they told some players "very good" players not to bother trying out next year in between games on Saturday morning. If that's true, then that's one sad way to handle things.
  13. That's too sad. Our prayers to his family also.......
  14. As for a new head coach for the High School, I think they should take applications and do interviews. Not just pick someone cause they like them or their family. Make sure the person's qualified and make sure of his history regardless where he's from. And do away with that spread offense (Michael Vick offense) and get back to the run it down your throat ballgame it used to be. As for Vince, there's one thing about being serious about football and another about picking your players because of their parents and then dogging other kids till they just walk out. I think the old coach they had, Preston, who's now at the high school would be a wonderful middle school coach. Can anyone give stats on how many actual games Vince has won and lost? Football teams take hard work and the kids have to work hard, but there are limits on middle school level. When you work the middle schoolers harder than the high school there's gotta be something wrong. They need to learn discipline yes, but screaming and spitting in a kids face or jerking them around by their pads, then running them till they throw up isn't gonna win you coach of the year. You can't break a kid emotionally at that level cause they're too afraid of what lays ahead if it's suppose to get worse as you get older and it's that bad already, they do what alot have done already, walk off and give up.
  15. Thanks Graybeard, I'm looking forward to being around!
  16. They definately need someone young and interested in the kids instead of just the title. I'd definately like to see someone come in and put some get and go into these kids and show them what football is about.
  17. As for Dane Dameron, he's a good, honest and fair man. Always did think he looked more like a college coach than high school and if you go to ECU's website the job he got is posted on their jobs page as a Head Coach/ Recruiter. So looks like he's getting the chance to build an entire football program and I think he'll do a great job at it. Just wish they'd make a public announcement in the newspaper about it being a final decission.
  18. Vince cares about Vince Jones and the title "Coach". Not the kids of the county, if he did he wouldn't be using drill sargents for assistant coaches and run'n off the good kids of BC to other schools. Ain't nothing good can come from breaking 8th graders spirits and making them cry or send them running the hillside only to have them run totally over the hill and not come back to the field.
  19. Hey its like this' he was born a collage coach! just wish he would please take that drill sargent Vince Jones with him" thats whats wrong with BC Football
