  1. BTW - Yeagle was Head Baseball Coach in the mid-90s for BW and they made the Regional Finals a couple of years in a row with List and Frohmeyer on the hill. I would be hard pressed to believe that they didn't care. But shame on the BW Boosters and Administration if they spend it all on football. Myerhoff just took them to another level, and now their consistent.
  2. Does this mean NCC beat Highlands? There is no score on the KHSAA.
  3. Villa has played the big boys this year, not with great success, but hopefully the speed of the game will not shock them. Good pitching and defense can give you a chance any day of the week. Lloyd just goes to show it can be done. That's why you play the game.
  4. Good one Hilltopper!!! BTW - what does IMO mean, forgive my ignorance in today's world of shorthand!
  5. Perhaps the beginning of a little tradition or rivalry brewing. There is a lot of pride and teamwork that went into building the facility.
  6. Great job by Aaron and his team today. It would have been very easy for them to fold it in for the season, but Drifmeyer and the JUGGS played tough and well. Congrats.:thumb:
  7. After close district losses to Scott 2-1 last year and 6-5 a couple of years ago, Villa finally pulled through. Congrats to the seniors.
  8. Villa with the upset...good call by the old guy.:ylsuper:
  9. Seeding is good because it creates rivalries and settles things on the field. I think the only problem with seeding, and the KHSAA for that matter, is that there is no consistancy from year to year. You can vote by majority to change it year to year. And, I think that once a district decides to seed, it should be required in all sports for that district (boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, etc..) I do not like a scenario where one school votes for seeding in one sport and not the other - usually based on talent each year. Each school should cast one vote across the board. As far as the small schools, most years any of the small schools in NKY (or the rest of the state) may have one good pitcher capable of winning one game. If they are lucky, they may have two. Seeding to the small schools is important in this area depending on whether or not you are a 4 or 6 team district. It's a lot easier to pull off one upset vs. two once you have used your best picture. Don't take this the wrong way, but after beating CovCath a couple of years ago, would Ludlow have had the pitching to beat another team like Beechwood or Dixie if there was a six team district?
  10. One win and in the region. Why not throw York so that if you do win, he would throw the first round of the region - win or lose to Dixie/Lloyd winner? Is he their best? :scared:

  12. Is this suppose to be the 34th District???:creepy:
  13. :thumb: Congrats to the Bellevue kids, picking up from last year's debacle. But, it's not like the Bellevue program was not respectable, or even good, just two years ago. Under Coach Runyan and his 10 years at the helm, they put some athletes on the field like Grant, Datson, Gullett, and the Bays, just to name a few. They are only a couple of years removed from being consistent participants in the regional tournament with several semi-final trips three and four years ago.:thumb:
  14. The hosting team of each district assigns a tournament manager and official scorer. They fill out the innings pitched in the tournaments on a KHSAA website form and send them downstate. Unfortunately, unless someone is policing the newspapers or games of a certain team, it is by a gentleman's honesty that coaches don't break the pitching rules in a regular season.
  15. CovCath has won 20+ games for over 20 years as well. No doubt, Harrison County and Coach Whitaker are right there every year. LexCath isn't shabby either over the last 20 years. We'll just agree to disagree and leave it at that.:jump:
  16. Coach Krumpelbeck at CovCath and PRP's coach (forget his name) are two that come to mind right away.
  17. With all due respect to Coach Whitaker, best coach in the state may be a little strong given the level of play and tenure of some other top programs as well - top 5 definitely.
  18. Be sure of one thing, both Krumps and Myerhoff are fierce competitors who love and expect to win regardless of the scenarios, teams, or situations. They use small ball to get ahead and let pitching and defense win the games. They build pitching staffs that are full of depth and quality so many times it doesn't matter who is pitching. You don't win 20+ games year in and year out with their strength of schedule without a great pitching staff (of 4 or 5). It is very possible both made a mistake in the pitching, but highly unlikely either was intentional. They both have the same standards, the only difference is their personalities are on total opposite ends of the spectrum. And Holy Cross might just be the best team out there.
