  3. I agree with Devilman, but 2 interesting questions 1) Can Bracken beat Mason on a given night in District? 2) Can Pendleton pull the same upset against Harrison?
  4. I think it is Boone's to lose, but I believe Highlands and Conner would be my darkhorses. It should be an exciting season in the 9th as it always seems to be every year. QUESTIONS: Did Boone find a new Assistant Coach yet? The big girl for Conner will she be back this season?
  5. I think the first four are pretty safe bets, but numbers 5-10 is a toss up it's going to come down to coaching expertise, players effort, and who stays away from injuries. 1 Montgomery 2 Paris 3 Mason 4 Clark 5 Harrison 6 Pendleton 7 Bracken 8 Brossart 9 Bourbon 10 Campbell 11 Scott 12 Deming 13 Nicholas 14 St. Pat 15 Calvary Chr. 16 Augusta
  6. Speculate till the cows come home...the bottom line is UK lost a top notch coach that brought the program back from the dead!!! Anyone that expected the program to reach the same level as the men's program is crazy, but it was developing into one of the good middle tier women's programs in the SEC. Coach Mitchell has to be feeling more pressure than Coach DeMoss ever did, because he has to continue to improve the program from the point it is at now. Whereas, Coach DeMoss could have only won 8 games that first season and still be seen as a saviour. The question now becomes can UK still pull the in state recruits from Louisville? I think the Lady Cards now have the upper hand.
  7. Sounds like the administration at Nicholas played Kelsch on this one. I heard from many different sources up here that Kelsch was a sure bet. I'm sure Bracken is glad to still have him on the bench though!
  8. So how did our local teams do at this camp? Who attended from our area?
  9. I wonder has Coach Robinson started working with the team yet or planning summer camps? This could be a real nice job, but I agree strength of schedule definitly needs to be stepped up.
  10. I don't have a dog in this fight, but it seems that by some of the opinions expressed on here that this was already decided before the season was really over. What were the arguments between the jv coach and Coach Ormes? How did that play into this? Who put out the survey to the players? Did this happen in every sport or just girl's basketball? So just because a group of players were playing really well for a middle school or jv coach you kick out a man that has dedicated a lot of time to the program to keep the players and parents happy? The varsity level is not the same as the jv level. Again, I think we are seeing firsthand what is going wrong with our athletic programs today. As administrators, and educators, first and coaches second we talk a good game about being role models and the need for a good education, but will quickly sacrafice it for a chance at more wins. Loyalty and dedication seem to be rapidly becoming a thing of the past.
  11. I find it very hard to believe that the players evaluated the coach without the A.D. having knowledge of it??? Do you have yearly records or stats showing how good St. Pat was before Coach Ormes???
  12. We seem to be getting away from discussing the main issue here. Coach Ormes was a Class Coach that deserves respect and St. Pat made a big mistake in their decision. The change of direction St. Pat must want to follow is down, because that is the only way to head with this move. If you want to discuss if St. Pat is recruiting or not take it to the private/public forum.
  13. I don't see a move from Williamstown for any coach. Who would be the Pendleton connection?
  14. I would like to see Charli Turner Thorne from Arizona St. Talk about an uptempo game!!! DeMoss deserves credit for rebuilding the program and making people interested in it again.
  15. I have seen Coach Doyle's teams a few times when they have come up to NKY and thought they have always played well. I'm sure he will have them ready again next season even with the loss of Woods.
  16. I would be really surprised if Coach Starns came back to the Girl's side to coach.
  17. Who will be the early favorites to win 8- 9 - 10th regions next season? My picks: In the 8th- Simon Kenton In the 9th- Boone County In the 10th- Paris
  18. QUOTE]Riley at Campbell County, Collins at Pendleton County, Kelsch at Bracken County, Kinney at Harrison County are all good young assistants who would make a wonderful leader of a program for some school.[ Are any of these 4 rumored to be making a move? I am surprised at the mention of St. Pat and Deming coming open. Still early in the year to see this many openings talked about.
  19. TubbyCat, what assistants are looking to move? Are they looking to stay in the 10th region or elsewhere?
  20. The way Cat fans are talking on here URIT might be able to set you up with a whole row of tickets!!! I think the obvious place to start would be to say what are the jobs that might be open in the 10th. Montgomery is a given...others... What coaches are looking to make a move? Who would benefit the most in making a move to another school?
  21. Besides Coach High what other coaching changes will be coming in the 10th for next season? Coach Brooks definitely deserves to be on this list as does Coach Sosby.
  22. 37th- Bishop Brossart Runner-up -Campbell County 38th- Harrison County Runner-up - Pendleton County 39th- Mason County Runner-up - St. Pat 40th- Montgomery County Runner-up - Clark County
  23. 700 wins or 650 wins Coach High still deserves to be HIGH on this list as well as Coach Whitaker down at Harrison County. This season I think you would have to give consideration to Coach Geiman at Brossart as well. The 10th Region has a lot of good coaches that go unrecognized due to the fact it is such a tough region gamewise night after night. A lot of the northern schools also crossover and play stiff competition from the 9th Region.
  24. I seen this in the boy's forum and thought it would be nice to start here in the girl's forum. Who would be considered the best Asst. Coaches in the 9th, 10th, and 8th?
