  1. I haven't heard the rumor either. I sure hope that it is not true. There is too much of that kind of thing that goes on, for whatever reason a kid jumps from one school another bc of a certain team or they are told they will get noticed by more college recruiter's or something. Is an athlete is good, they will get noticed no matter which school they are at.

  2. I think that in Kentucky the "sweet sixteen" is what it is all about, it is probably one of the best h.s. tourneys/concepts in the nation. Small schools have won it before. I support and am a fan of a small school (Raceland), there is the "All A" classic but I don't think that it is sanctioned by the KHSAA. I just love the concept of one tournament - state wide for all the marbles. As for football being classified - I can see that bc there are a fewer number of kids that make up a basketball team that do a football team. Small schools would have a much harder time matching up in football just due to the number of kids in the school and the number of kids that it takes to make up a football team as opposed to basketball. There is nothing wrong with the sweet sixteen staying the way it is. After all, there is always the chance/dream of the little guy taking it all and that is what makes it special.

  3. Good luck to the Tomcats this year - except in the first game against my Raceland Rams - lol. I am a born and bred Raceland fan but respect the Ahland tradition very much. Tomcats are always a class act and I know that Raceland respects them (as I think that they do us).

  4. Russell will always be a threat - they have built a fine tradition under Ivan McGlone. I love his style of play - "run it down their throats/control clock and play defense". I am by no means a big Russell fan but I do respect teams with tradition.

  5. I too did not have a favorite team in the tournament or a "dog in the fight", but I know what a lousy official that the one that will be calling a game in Rupp is. This is the guy that wants to make sure everyone knows that he is there. The game is supposed to be about the kids and not the officials. You can tell a well officiated game when at the end no one notice's the officials.

  6. Anyone have any info on Raceland Football 2006? I know that almost the entire line (OandD) along with their two top recievers were lost to graduation. The Q.B. will be back but they have a lot of holes to fill, I understand that their Freshman and Jr. High teams were good - a lot of talent on the Freshman team.

  7. I did not see the game so I can't give a first hand opinion on the officiating. I will say however, that if a certain official that will be calling games in the state tourney this week was calling it that there is a good chance the game was poorly officiated. This guy wants to make sure everyone knows that he is there. The man has to learn that he is not the show and the game is what people are there to see! That is what this man did when he officiated football and he was without a doubt the worst football official in the area. I don't think that he calls football anymore and that is good for any players, coaches and fans of any game that he would have called.
