  1. Partial.... No way I do believe they both could be in consideration!!!
  2. It most certainly is not. Seating is limited on the 1st level with the chairs, and I believe the gym only holds 1700 people. That does,t compare with Ryle, Conner, and Holmes.
  3. How I agree that positions are earned, I feel that if you have 5 seniors they should start on Senior night. In most cases they have been in the program for 4 years and have earned the right to do so. Most kids won't go to the next level so it is their night to shine. If they are only in for 2 minutes, in most cases they aren't going to hurt you that bad.
  4. That isn't exactly what I am implying, but you certainly have to have some talent to win. Coaching can be overrated in some cases. It also has to matter to the kids. You can be Ricky P in there, but if your kids accept being average then it doesn't matter how much you know. It also is a matter of if the players believe in you. As a coach if you know every play and defense known to man it doesn't mean squat if the kids don't respect you. I have seen it in so many cases. In regards to everyone's top 2 Coach Goetz and Coach Schlarman, it shows that their players respect them, and that is why they are where they are with good not great players!! The kids have skills and are disciplined and will do what is asked of them to do. It is also a tribute to who the kids are. They are coachable and that may have as much to do with being successful as anything. I touched a lot of different things there, but I hope my point was understandable in their somewhere
  5. You can make an argument for Coach Schlarman coming off a tough year, but they returned everyone. He has done a great job. Coach Listerman has done a good job as well. CCH certainly doesn't ever have to rebuild they just reload year in and year out. They have a terrific record against NKY teams, and have played a heck of a non region schedule. That race is as open as the Ninth Region title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. DEDICATION!! Everything will take care of itself if you are dedicated 12 months per year!!!
  7. Ross was a very good player, but not the best to come out of that athlete factory. Draud, Smith, and Walz would have something to say about that...
  8. I greatly appreciate the information. :thumb: I know that they have had some problems, but I was not sure what the siutation was. It sounds like Coach Dilts maybe able to get the program on the right track. Good for them!! I like to see the underdogs achieve every once in a while.
  9. Curiosity... I just wanted to know is that a bit of a stepping stone program for coaches to get to a more traditional basketball school or is it veteran coaches who are trying to get things right in Dayton?
  10. If the districts played out according to seed, Lloyd is the 2 seed in the 34th!!!
  11. How many different Head Coaches has Dayton had in the last 10 years?
  12. I agree this is a down district, but not the weakest. Take Simon out of the 32nd and you have walton, Grant, and W-town!!! Not the toughest of comp. Lloyd's coach did the right thing by making a stand. It seems those kids think they can do what they want, and he put a stop to it. The wins and loses aren't where they would like them to be, but they are working some younger guys in for a potentially bright future.
  13. That is an absolute fact. The reason is, parents let their kids back talk them :madman: and it carries over to school and extra curriculars. Very sad! I would never have dreamed about walking off the court, no matter what. Of course it matters if you play or not, but what that scoreboard says at the end is all that really matters.
  14. If you want to bring up past high risers, lets not forget about Charles Sheffield from LLoyd. About 6'4" caught an oop one handed versus Walton in the 1st round of the districts in 1996. He had to be midway up the square, ridiculous!!!!!!!!!
  15. There was a parent of a Lloyd player who was cut from the team last year, that at this years Dixie-Lloyd game sat behind the Lloyd bench with a Dixie shirt on and gave the Lloyd coach all he wanted to hear. Some people are just ridiculous. Go to the game support your kid, and go home. If your kid gets into a fight on the floor he probably provocked something to be a part of it. If he doesn't play enough help him get better. Most kids don't get to play after their high school career, don't ruin it for them by bringing attention onto yourself! :madman:
  16. As far as this year has gone, no win is a bad win. What you said about being serviceable. Exactly the problem.
  17. Lloyd's freshman team were playing a double schedule, due to numerous JV kids quitting and getting kicked off. Tough year for those kids. Hopefully for them it will be beneficial for them in the long run.
  18. While I agree with Dayton not being close, Grayson can't score without the ball, and that has been an issue. The guards have been beat up and have had a tough year.
  19. Agreed!!!! The districts should be seeded and it should not be up for debate.
  20. Evans... QUIT  apparently that young man isn't a big fan of being disciplined!! Along with about 6 other players.
